It was a bright and sunny normal day in Republic City. Children were playing, spirits were chirping about, and everything was going along like normal. Well at least that's what everyone seemed to think. That is until so many people seemed to be appearing out of nowhere. For some reason Republic City seemed to be more lively and the crowds bigger.

The spirits have grown restless as if something important was about to change, and to try to fix that change, the spirits with their big long tree like limbs dragged people into the world left and right. Even the vines covering Republic City seemed to help. Although the spirits had the best intentions in mind, some people were more affected by the grab than others. There's talk that people in this city don't even know what this place is. People who have never heard of the words "bender" or "non-bender."

Welcome to Republic City! And to those who already live here: Happy Saturday. Please make yourselves at home and don't mind a little spirit gunk. It's mostly harmless. Go enjoy yourself a classic mover. Maybe you're the athletic type. If that's the case, come watch a few Pro-bending matches or form your own team. Just watch out for any Satomobiles. They can be deadly no matter how pretty the driver is.

Please remember to enjoy your stay and don't cause too much trouble. The Republic City Police don't need more riffraff to take care of. And don't stray too far. To make the the peace is kept, there's a huge spirit barrier around the perimeter of the city. It seems pretty strong, but it won't be able to last forever. Still, it's worrying. Radio signals and telegraphs don't seem to be getting past it.

[Ah, yes. What a fine day! A young girl with a red hood and cape is walking about, muttering something under her breath. She seems preoccupied by a few thoughts!]

Air temple, air temple... [A random pastry is stuffed in her mouth, brows furrowing as she looks around for... something.]

Okay, it should be pretty obvious where it is, but...

[Now she's chewing loudly, not minding any "table manners" as she pushes forward past the crowds, resisting the urge to use that staff of her just yet. She was eating a snack, after all. Taking in all the sights, she can't help but not exactly watch where she's going.]

Oh, boy. How stupid could I be?

[Feel free to bump into her. Literally. Or just catch the fact that she may or may not be turned around in this big city.]

[Bumping into her literally? Yep, that's a go. Opal's just window browsing when Ruby tries to snake her way through the crowd. The dark-haired teen naturally puts out her hand to steady whoever bumped into her if need be, a bright speck in the crowd with the yellow and orange of her air acolyte uniform.]

Woah, careful there!

She'd always imagined that being drawn into the spirit world would somehow seem less... abrupt, somehow. Not that Katara spent a great deal of time imagining what it would be like to go there, but the few times she'd entertained the notion she'd never pictured giant vines. Somewhere in the very back of her mind a tiny voice insisted she apologize to her brother the next time she saw him ("Vegetables, ate, PEOPLE!").

Well, no matter. Suddenly displaced and with only a very vague idea of how, Katara (still in her green dress from her visit with the others to Iroh's tea shop) was among the first to find themselves standing in a strange new place, very confused and very alarmed.

... Did that really just happen?

"Where is this...?" It's muttered under her breath with some concern, and Katara takes another full look around trying to spot even just one familiar face in the crowd of confused ones. "Aang? Sokka? Toph??"

Well, just to name a few that is. And if she didn't spot anyone soon she'd eventually start wandering on her own. It wouldn't take too long for her to be drawn to the city's edge where Aang's statue watched over the city harbor, at which point she'll be turning to the nearest person who looks like a resident to ask with some urgency-

"Excuse me, can you tell me whose statue that is?"

Aang had been air scooting around in random directions, panicked by suddenly being in this strange and unusual place. The buildings were so towering, and there were mobile machines the likes of which he hadn't seen before.

But eventually, there's own head of hair that sticks out to Aang. Still perched on his air scooter, in his formal airbending robes, he zips right over towards her, his heart rising as he calls out for her. "Katara?!"

[It's one of the rare off days when it comes to training and Opal is more than happy to claim the needed respite. Training was fun in it's own way but Opal certainly wouldn't claim it to be the only thing worth living for.

So with that she had departed Air Temple Island early in the morning with the intention of spending a full day in the city itself. And on the way back she would bring back supplies. It was only fair, right? So here she is, wandering the streets and doing a bit of window shopping here and there, all while clad in that distinctive air acolyte uniform.

After a while though she has to pause and wonder aloud to herself.]

It seems... busy.

[Not that the city was ever quiet but didn't it seem like it was more packed than usual? ... Then again she was more used to Zaofu levels of packed so...]

[It's later in the afternoon, and it's been ages since he had stolen lettuce wraps with Wan. Now, Aang's hungry again and doesn't want to consider stealing this time. Instead, he's looking forlornly at a stand stocking lots of yummy-looking fruits and vegetables.

He may not call out to her, but there will be a very audible growl of his stomach.]

It's only the intro log and they're already trying to ruin her image! This is a PR nightmare!

Asami needed an excuse to stretch her legs. She could be found anywhere around the town, hanging posters that advertised the upcoming first annual Future Industries Motor Showcase, to be held at Future Industries track next weekend. Fun for the whole family! Professional and amateur racing, tech demos, refreshments, and more! You might have heard an ad over the radio, too.

Asami tacked yet another flier to a telephone pole, contemplating stopping somewhere for lunch before making her way back to the office.

In light of the sudden surge of refugees showing up throughout the city, (Leave it to the Spirit World, UGH.) Asami had a small team of workers assembling care packages. Blankets, canteens, dry snacks, maps, and a few yuans to be handed out to those who had been displaced. She set up shop with the help of a few cops out in front of the Future Industries factory.

If you were polite enough, she may even offer you a job.

Duo leaned in to look at one of the posters that Asami had just hung up, rather seriously scanning the advertizement for all of ten seconds. That's when a snicker slipped out. Future? Yeah right. "More like an antique show," he muttered with a snort.

Oookay, that was one hell of a trip. And he'd thought that letting Zero bounce around in your head was bad enough. This was something new and he sure as hell didn't want to do that again.

Stumbling, he rubbed his eyes to scrub out the images before opening them up to see just where in the world he was now. "Okay... Tin Man's going to show up any time now, right?"

Duo turned around in a full circle, just staring as he took in all in. It certainly wasn't the space colony he'd just been on, and didn't really look like anyplace he'd been before. Catching sight of someone, he gave them a friendly wave. "Oi! Could you tell me which way to the nearest airport?"

The girl who he was trying to wave down was waiting for someone who wasn't too far away. As he was busy talking to someone else movement caught her attention thanks to her peripheral vision. Turning her head to get a better look at the braided stranger she considered his question for a moment before asking one of her own.

"I could try? But what's an airport?"

Some kind of Air Nomad landmark? That would be her guess.

Despite all the commotion of spirits dragging people around and who knew what else, Nabooru seemed rather unbothered by all of it. So unperturbed, in fact, that she was lounging around in the park, arms behind her head, sunning herself. It was never going to get as hot in the city as it did in the desert, and part of her would never finish making that transition (her heart lived in her home place forever). But while it was still just above chilly, she wanted to be able to relax. Things got harder during those months.

So when someone wanders right into her light, casting a shadow, she can't help but react rather negatively. "Oy." Rudely calling. "Move it, will you?"

Still entirely uncaring about people running around, Nabooru has seen fit to go to one of her favorite cafes and continue her routine task of lazing around. After ordering several things off the menu, her outside table is stacked high with fattening junk food- all things glazed and sugared and frosting topped. And she has no self awareness (or perhaps manners) as she shoves them into her mouth one by one. Except that is, of course, if someone stops to stare.

"If you're going to ask for an autograph just do it already." Because who didn't know of the esteemed Nabooru of the sand bender tribe that's known for theft and murder. Fantastic. "I might not charge if you ask really nice."

The owner of the shadow seems unfazed by Nabooru's attitude. If anything, it makes him feel like teasing her. Mikazuki turns around to fully face Nabooru and gives her a friendly smile.

"How about a 'please'?"

Okay, something isn't right here. One moment he was walking and talking with his mother, and the next he's in the middle of the street.

No literally. RIGHT THERE.

There's the loud blaring of horns from Satomobiles as some random Fire Nation kid, who looks like he takes being a Lord Zuko fan a bit too seriously, dodges them. A bit of a panicked look on his face as he does so. Cause WHAT ARE THESE THINGS!

Eventually he manages to stumble his way onto a sidewalk, breathing a bit heavily and staring back out at the street. The sun glints off the golden flame-shaped hairpiece in his topknot, while there's also a very obvious scar on the left side of his face.

Where the heck is he?! He might be asking random people exactly that. And as he learns more, Zuko starts walking the streets in a dazed confusion.

It was probably a bad thing that he was in such a daze from this new surrounding, because it didn't give him much time to be on alert when a possibly familiar girl came running right into him.

She was wandering the streets taking in all of these amazing new attractions when she arrived. Ba Sing Se's lower ring had nothing on this place. She was lost in all this wonder and amazement when she heard the horn of a Satomobile blaring away at her. It scared her enough to make her run all the way to the other side of the street and right into Zuko.

She stumbled back and fell down on the ground with a loud squeak.

"I'm so sorry about that, it was all my... fault," she trailed off as she squinted up at Zuko.

"Lee?"

Part One: Library

[After hearing a few things around the city, Korra's feeling more confused than ever. Something just isn't adding up here, no matter how she thinks about this. The newspapers on the stands give her a date that's weeks ahead of what she remembers, and that means she's lost a lot of time somehow. She needs to know what's going on.

After liberating a few items from the police department's lost and found room--it's not stealing if she's going to return them! (eventually)--Korra makes her way through the city again. This time, she's headed for the library's (ugh) newspaper archives.

Anyone in the area will see a girl in a longish coat and hat sitting alone at a table that's covered with about a few weeks' worth of newspapers. The coat covers up the very recognizable Water Tribe outfit, but her face may still be familiar to anyone who looks over at her--especially when she stands up suddenly, face pale, her chair scraping noisily across the floor.]

Part Two: The Barrier

[This time, Korra's shed the coat and hat, waving off the reporters who try to talk to her. She can be found tracing the perimeters of the barrier, expression grim as she places a hand on the smooth surface.

A few spirits have drifted closer, seemingly curious about her activities, though they don't try to get too close. Korra looks over at them when following the darn barrier doesn't do a thing, dropping to the ground in a cross-legged position with a sigh.]

I guess you wouldn't know what this is, would you?

[She's...totally talking to the spirits, but anyone passing by her just now would probably think she's talking to them.]

[Asami spends a decent amount of time in the library, if only to find someplace other than her office to work. Her ear is drawn to the scrape of Korra's chair, and she can't help but double take at that pile of old papers. It's only a moment later that she recognizes-]

Korra?

[Asami's on her way over now, hair pinned back and in her business clothes and looking shocked and more than a little concerned.]

A. Pro-bending Arena

[It seems that really Bolin has nothing but a lot of time on his hands. Quite literally, being back in Republic City is almost a foreign concept; he hasn't actually been back there since their huge fiasco. And so now Bolin, devoid of an immediate purpose, is in search of something to do.

[And so that means that he's going to be passing out fliers near the pro-bending arena. Pabu is going to be on his shoulder—or occasionally sitting prettily upon Bolin's head to get others' attention—as Bolin is passing out fliers advertising his team's upcoming tryouts. With as many people being pulled into the town from the Spirit Wilds, he's actually using this moment of opportunity to get some better recruits this year.]

The Fire Ferrets are going for the championship again this year, I promise! In search of a good firebender and waterbender! Tryouts later this week!

[And if he's pushed for details about the team's performance last year, he will mutter something about it being a fluke of bad luck.]

B. Signing Autographs

[Somewhere in the city, there's bound to be a huge crowd gathered outside of one of the mover theaters. That's because, even months later, The Adventures of Nuktuk stills seems to be one of the films that still plays in the theaters every now and again. And today is a special day because Bolin's agreed, after a long hiatus from being in Republic City with the Avatar, to finally get back on the PR train and do his due diligence to his fans.]

You're another Nuktuk fan? That's awesome! So... who should I make this out to?

A.

[Though Nezha was familiar with the idea of pro-bending, his experiences with it were limited to catching the occasional snippet of a broadcast on the radio whenever his father wasn't around to change the station. It wasn't until he got to Republic City that he actually got to witness a match, but he was hooked immediately.]

I can firebend, hire me. [says the boy with the wrapped spear resting across his shoulder, his tone so casual despite the order that he may as well be ordering tea.]

[A. Streets of Republic City]

[One minute, they were celebrating a hard-earned peace on a certain balcony in Ba Sing Se. Then everything changed when the Spirit nation attacked.

The next thing he knows, Aang is in a traffic-filled area near the harbor. He could be found zipping around on his air scooter, narrowly avoiding car after car as he tries to make sense of this situation.

He finally comes to a stop near the harbor, where after meeting with Katara, he finds himself staring at a very familiar-looking statue in the harbor...]

[B. Avatar Aang Memorial Island]

[Later that morning, he travels to that memorial island. It's initially like a ghost town, and it is then when he first meets the new Avatar, but it fills out during his stay there. One can find him looking through a number of curios on display in the museum, most of which are trinkets from his adventures. He can be smiling and nodding as he recognizes something, or laughing, or looking confused or sad. He may even find a certain family portrait...

He'll stay there until later, when he departs with Wan.]

[C. Republic City Park and Other Miscellanea]

[After parting ways with Wan, Aang explores the city. He's now careful to keep his identity as the Avatar a secret. It might be better that way. So he'll only be using airbending as he explores. He can be found around the park or mindlessly roaming the streets of Republic City. He'll even poke his head in at the Probending Arena at some point.]

[D. Air Temple Island]

[Aang comes here in the evening, learning that he'll be able to have a place to stay here - and on top of that, so will Katara and Sokka.

He spends a lot of time exploring both the island and the temple, taking in every nook and cranny. It's all so fascinating to him and nostalgic and bittersweet - new and old at the same time.

Eventually, he finds the area where the animals are gathered. It's not long before he's dogpiled by a group of friendly sky bison and flying lemurs. As he plays around with them, Aang laughs. A laugh that rings with more innocence than it has in a long time.]

For Wan

[It was a wonderful ride, and Aang kept on cheering and laughing all along the way. Once they come to a stop, Aang gracefully hops off of Wan's back and sits near him, accepting his lettuce wrap with a mild laugh.]

It sure was a long way to go for a little bit of lettuce! [He says jokingly. He's not about to feel very guilty about it - it was a very small thievery after all and hopefully a one time thing. Plus it came with a really fun ride.]

It had been about a week since Weiss Schnee had stepped off the boat and into her new life. She still had not found a job, and had only met a few people. Republic City both intrigued and terrified her. What would she do now that she was on her own? Even during the absence of her father, Weiss had been near neighbors, or servants, or some type of safety net to help her if she needed it. Now, she was going to have to support herself.

That would be a challenge, but Weiss wanted to do it. She wanted to break away from her father, from her home life. Weiss wanted to be something great without relying on her status. So, with determination, she forged on, trying not to panic.

Now that she was settled in her own place, Weiss planned on spending the whole day exploring, and looking for places that might be hiring. She got up early that morning, tied her hair up, and ventured outside when vendors and stores were starting to open.

It's such a big city. It's easy to get lost, and Aang's puzzled by how indifferently most people tend to pass each other by. At the moment, Aang is also wearing a hat over his head so that his forehead tattoo isn't immediately visible.

He decides to greet the next person he sees as he walks down the sidewalk, and it happens to be this white-haired girl. He smiles and gives her a friendly wave. "Hello! How are you this afternoon?"

After only a short time in Republic City, Lord Zuko is both surprised and deeply concerned when he learns of all the strange occurrences around the city. Not only are people appearing as if out of thin air, but there's a barrier preventing anyone from leaving. Instead of waiting for the United Forces or police to mobilise and investigate, however, he decides to save time by taking matters into his own hands.

To that end, he takes his dragon and flies the entire perimeter of the barrier. What he finds is that there are no ways through, not by land, sea, or air. Unsurprisingly, it's impervious to firebending, too.

Landing a ways out on the city outskirts, in a less populated area so as to avoid Druk causing too much alarm, Lord Zuko dismounts his companion. Are the spirits -- or one particularly powerful spirit -- holding them prisoner? Or are their intentions a little more benevolent than that? So far the spirits have managed to live peacefully in the city alongside humans, and there's no reason he knows of why that should suddenly change. Advising the President to declare a state of emergency in response would be pointless: it would only whip up panic and distrust. And asking the Avatar to mediate is also out of the question, with Korra in no condition to be exerting herself...

Zuko can be found lingering at the barrier a little while longer after that, perplexed, as he considers his options. There has to be something he can do.

While Zuko's considering his options, someone else has taken to the skies in hopes of testing the barrier as well. After circling the city twice, with no results to show for it, Korra finally forces herself to stop. Prodding at the barrier won't do anything, and if everything she's heard already is true, the barrier is only one part of the problems they may be facing. Problems, plural.

She spies Lord Zuko and his companion while she's passing, and figures it wouldn't hurt to talk to him. Korra descends quickly, glider staff whirling through the air as she lands near him.

"Lord Zuko!" Korra hurries over to him. "I didn't know you were in Republic City! I thought you'd gone back to the Fire Nation already."

Finding himself in a completely different world isn't entirely a new experience for Lloyd, but at least all the other times he'd had some warning! A portal, a Gate, something besides walking down a road one minute, then suddenly Somewhere Else the next. Not only that, but Tethe'alla and Sylvarant had been similar enough to each other that sometimes he had to think to remember which world he was in. This?

Tall buildings unlike any he's ever seen before, carriages racing by without any animals in front to pull them, and vines. Vines everywhere. Alarm spikes in the brown-haired teen when he sees the tangled mass trying to claim whole buildings.

No. Oh no, the Tree! That's the only explanation he can think of, that the Great Tree must have gone berserk again. But how? What happened? He'd thought it was stable, and Yuan was watching it. How could something like this have happened without any warning at all?

And... why isn't anyone panicking?

It's that realization, that everyone is all but ignoring the vines, that finally turns Lloyd's alarm into just plain bewilderment. No screams, no people running from tree roots lashing out, no buildings toppling (at least, not right now). It's not like Palmacosta at all. People are walking, talking, laughing, dodging around- okay, some of those animals look just plain weird, some almost like Summon Spirits, but Lloyd's a little too preoccupied with what he thinks the vines represent to pay much attention to them just yet.

Finally realizing he's not going to get any answers by just wandering and staring at things, he takes a breath and approaches the first person he sees. "Hey, uh, excuse me!" He gestures toward the vines all around. "What happened to this place?"

Katara has been all over the world by this point in her life, from the icy poles to the mountain tops to foggy swamps and riverside towns and all over the Earth Kindom and Fire Nation. Yet nothing had prepared her for Republic City. It was a marvel alone that the buildings were so tall, but to add to that the sight of the Satomobiles and the crazy vines all over the place? That no one was reacting to that simply told her that this was something of a normal occurrence around these parts, so it's safe for her to focus her energy on other things, like everything else.

Katara turns a look to Lloyd and wishes she could give him a better answer than: "Your guess is as good as mine. I'm still trying to figure out where we are."

... What a strange style of dress, actually, now that she gets a closer look.

"Are you from here?"

You kind of look like you could fit right in, aside from the fact you're one of the only ones reacting to the vines, friend.

A. Park

[ Well, that was definitely the most spectacular - and successful - attempt of alien abduction on his person that George ever had the displeasure witnessing.
Vines in his dressing room had not been what he expected and before he could even find it in himself to be offended.... he was here.

And here was definitely not Enoshima, Japan.

Behind his sunglasses, George blinked, looking around to stare at the foreign city he found himself in. ]

...this is not even a foreign spaceship... what on earth...

[ He muttered under his breath before realizing that 'on earth' was probably the least accurate description for his situation.
These aliens didn't seem to play by the rules at all and he was a little more scared than he cared to admitt. George started frantically checking his pockets for any device of communication he could use to try and contact his men, but to no avail. Immediately he felt foolish.

Now trying his best to look like he belonged - which was hard, considering he was a tall pale blond man with a turban on - George sat down on a bench, considering his options.

The people around him seemed human alright, but he wouldn't trust in that - and he'd definitely not give them the pleasure of panicking and asking where he was. There had to be a smarter way to figure it out.

Before he could flesh out his plan however, he was distracted extraordinarily by movement on the nearby river.

And he got up from his seat instinctively to stare in shock.

Not the normal reaction a bunch of young turtleducks, huh? ]

B. In The Streets

[ The culture shock regarding the existence of turtleducks still in his bones, George finally decided to move on to bigger and better things - figuring out his situation.
The great scheme for it wasn't very great though.

But approaching people in the streets is always the easiest way to get a feeling for a place. ]

Excuse me, but do you know if there's a... tourist office or something similar for people who just came here from the villages?

[ There was bound to be villages around that he could make things up about, right? ]

[There's a young girl nearby just sitting at the river, munching on a relatively large pastry... and then as she's chewing it, she's picking off a few small pieces of said pastry and throwing it to the babies. Haha, turtleducks were literally the best!

And then she notices this guy. What is he even doing?]

Um, are you okay? [Something seems off...]

Mikazuki heard about the strange people popping seemingly out of nowhere, he headed straight for one of the city's thicker vine forests. If spirits were involved as the rumors said, surely he'd have a better chance to find them there, right? Give the confused newcomers a warm Republic City welcome, maybe punch them a little.

Yes, punching was perfectly welcoming as far as Mikazuki was concerned. Maybe one of the strangers would fancy a friendly fight. Rumor had it that they didn't even know what bending was, so perhaps they have other mysterious powers in their disposal! He was getting excited just thinking about it.

But alas, Mikazuki found no cool mysterious newcomers in the vines. He did, however, find a small, bird-like spirit that kept following him even after he left the spirit grove.

Mikazuki didn't mind the company, but if the thing was going to hang out with him, he needed something to call it.

"Hey, you over there! Help me name my new friend!"

"Have you tried asking it what it's name is?" Wan asked wryly. He was actually heading toward the Wilds Mikazuki had left only a little while before, but since the kid caught his attention on the way, he detoured over to talk to him. "If you have, and it hasn't given you any answer, then just start putting names out there and see what it likes."

A) Republic City Streets

[Even if he didn't know how he got here still, this place really reminds him of New York. The bustling streets, the crowds of people, the large buildings. All of it. Well, except for the part that everything looked really old. Like, something he would've seen out of a world war 2 history book.

He has to push past the crowds of people, trying to not to get trampled, when he just happens to bump right into someone and falling over like a klutz and now scrambling to get back up. Though he does offer words of apology.]


S-sorry about that. I didn't see you.

B) Food stand

[It's been hours after he's eaten and now Henry's feeling pretty famished. He's managed to find a food stand with a cranky old lady serving kabobs. He's approached her and trying to buy food with this.

Honestly, it's not going well and he's not surprised but he's desperate.]

Please, this is all I have! It's money, I swear!

C)Outside City Hall

[Henry's managed to find City Hall with the help of a few strangers pointing him in the right direction. He's gotten the bright idea that maybe breaking into the place might give him some answers. After all, it worked in Storybrooke when he lifted those keys from his mom's office. He tries to act non-chalant as he walks towards the front doors of the building. It probably didn't look THAT suspicious that there was a kid just going on inside.]

[ It's more coincidence than anything else that George observes the conflict of the boy and the food vendor - it doesn't catch his attention particularly until he gets a better glimpse at the dollar bill.
After his previous observations, he's sure something like this shouldn't exist here. Dollars are a thing of earth, the place he came from.
For the first time, George faces the possibility that more humans from his 'world' might have been brought here.

George walks over to the child. ]

Give it up, kid, that's not the currency here.

A: Gotta make a living somehow.

It's no mystery that Republic City has some less than savory areas hidden away. Here, crime and street fights are common, and so the sight of a crowd gathering around a pair of brawlers and placing their bets is not at all rare.

One of the fighters--a teenager carrying a long piece of piping--bobs and weaves as he dodges chunks of rock thrown by his earthbending opponent. The ones he can't dodge explode into dust and sparks as the makeshift weapon impacts with them. Finally, an opening is spotted, and the teenager swings the pipe overhead to send a wall of flame toward his opponent. The earthbender quickly raises a wall of rock to guard... only for the pipe to shatter it and halt mere inches from his face. The wall of flame had been a distraction; the firebender had followed it to break through his guard.

Defeated, the earthbender backs down and tosses the boy a small pouch full of coins before retreating into the crowd. Grinning, the teen turns toward the crowd and sets the pipe over his shoulders, clearly enjoying himself.

"Hey, who's next? I'm not tired yet."

B: Checking out the barrier

It's been a few days since Nezha's arrival in Republic City via the ferries. In that time, he'd managed to tangle with the police over the open carrying of a weapon (which he quickly learned that if he wrapped the blade in a sheet they mostly ignored it), scrape together a few yuans in street brawls, and find himself a place to crash with said yuans.

Today, with all the strange phenomena, the young firebender is out investigating the barrier. He's already tried smacking it with his spear and throwing fire at it, but nothing seems to gain any sort of reaction. Still, Nezha is far less concerned than others are likely to be. It's not like he has any reason to leave anyway.

Well she didn't want to fight the boy, but she did want to cheer him on. She walked in on the fight about half way through it, and well normally she didn't want to encourage such a thing, his moves were really impressive. So Jin was standing in front of the crowd that she managed to sneak in through and was cheering and clapping.

[He's been stuffing his face full of food at a small restaurant for some time now, not quite eating enough to put the poor owner out of business, but definitely putting them in danger of having to close early for the day. He just, you know, isn't carrying any cash at the moment, so he's keeping an eye out for any poor soul he can rope into sitting with him so he can leave them with the bill. It's always been a pretty successful strategy for him, so there's no need to change it up now. Once he sees a likely target, he'll give him a nice smile and try to wave them over.]

[A small shop of some sort seems to have caught fire. He probably could go help the people frantically trying to put it out, but instead he's parked himself on the roof of a nearby Satomobile (not his own) to watch. He may not have popcorn, but he does have a few kabobs shoved in his mouth, so that's going to have to suffice.]

Republic City is great, isn't it?

[Well, that's what he intended to say. Good luck understanding him when he talks with his mouth full.]

Huh? Are you talking to me?

[ Jin happened to be walking by when she heard a voice talking. She turned around to see the strange person sitting on top of one of those loud moving cart things. And not only that but he had alot of food... Oh man. ]

[ One minute Ty Lee was at the beach, laughing with her friends. Though the night was a little rocky, it was probably the best night of her life in the end. Without any warning, she was torn away and now found herself staring out at the big city. Under her feet were large vines and it was no longer night, but as if she had woken up to a new day. Or maybe she was dreaming?

Just to be on the safe side, Ty Lee pinched herself. ] Ow! I guess it isn't a dream after all.

[ Ty Lee easily jumped down from the vines and took a good look at her new location. If a place like this existed, she was pretty sure she would know about it. It was noisy and even the smells were all wrong. ]

I don't think I'm at Ember Island anymore... [ There was really only way to find out where she was and people was one thing this new location was in short of. ]

Excuse me-- Could anyone tell me where I am? I'm not sure how I got here and I'm a little lost.

[ Well Jin couldn't really tell her where she was, but she could definitely say she was in awe at the fact the girl jumped from such a high distance. Actually it looked kind of fun. She quickly ran over to Ty Lee with a big smile on her face.]

(A): Fancy Party in Republic City

"Ah, yes, terrible tragedy, wasn't it? Personally, I'm of the opinion that the real tragedy is that someone didn't smother the Earth Queen to death years ago." Lau paused to take a deep sip from his drink. When speaking sedition, after all, it was always good to appear much drunker than one actually was. "Oh, come now. No one has the audacity to say it, but everyone is thinking it. You know what that paranoid old hag did to Ba Sing Se. Secret police, child soldiers, people starving in the streets... now that's tragic."

He laughed with a practiced touch of self-consciousness. "Oh my, I'm afraid this is all rather heavy talk for a party, isn't it? Let us speak of more pleasant things!" Lau waved his hand to signal a change in the topic of conversation. But still, he might plant the seeds of doubt in a few of these thoughtless partygoers, and slowly bring them to his side...

(B): In a Shady Part of Town

Lau usually avoided places like this. After all, he was a respectable businessman now, and it just wouldn't do to be seen walking the narrow, vine-choked alleys where the Triad gangs were known to operate. These days, he preferred to do business on board his personal airship. Sometimes, though, he grew nostalgic for his old home in Republic City's slums. He missed the familiar sights, the familiar sounds, the familiar smells... well, maybe not the smells.

But to Lau, who normally kept his eyes closed and had therefore developed a keen sense of hearing, the sounds of the city were very distinct. He could hear raised, angry voices up ahead - a sure sign of trouble. He smiled to himself and strolled casually towards the source of the commotion. He was in the mood for a bit of trouble.

A man came screaming around the corner, his hair ablaze. Two more followed after him, a bit singed, but in slightly better shape, but that didn't last long when they were hit by a jet of flame from behind.

"Running away so soon? We were just getting started!"

All three men screamed and scrambled over each other trying to cram themselves into the same alleyway to escape, the waterbender of the bunch at least having the presence of mind to douse his compatriot's hair first. Judar poked his head around the corner, pouting a little as he looked back and forth to try to figure out where his latest playthings had escaped to. When he saw Lau approach, he immediately brightened.

"Oh hi, Lau!"

a. city streets

[ Early that morning Jinora can be found walking through the city crowds, airbender staff in one hand and a few bags in the other. Upon closer inspection the bags were full of things like clothing and even a few pots and pans, and while she doesn't have too many bags she definitely has enough. And while weaving through the crowds isn't exactly difficult for her she isn't usually held down by so many things when she's trying to do it, which makes it a little awkward. ]


b. spirit wilds

[ Jinora's finally made her way to the wilds after a pretty eventful day. With all these people showing up in the city she can't help but be worried that maybe there were spirits being affected, too. What if they were showing up with no memories of this place, just as confused as all the people were? Not as many people went through here as the rest of the city, and Jinora wanted to make sure the spirits weren't being effected negatively by the situation, too. ]

Hello! [ She calls out softly, looking around as she walks along. There were a few small spirits following along after her already, but they didn't seem to be any different from a normal day. ] Is anyone here? You don't have to be scared. It's okay to be confused but we're going to figure everything out.


c. air temple island

[ Finally home, Jinora's spending her time running all over the island trying to get everything ready for the few people that are going to be moving in. New airbenders off the boat, new airbenders from other times, others... She was expecting the place to feel much fuller than normal but if anything the place feels kind of empty. There's not sign of her family or Kai or a lot of other airbenders, at least, but they were probably just busy. There was a lot going on, after all.

Still, that just means it's up to her to try and make the place seem as welcoming as possible. She can be found going in and out of previously unoccupied rooms, around the dining hall and kitchen areas, and even running around outside or waiting by the docks for a boat to come in.

Later on, she can be found meditating at the pavilion by herself, looking a little less excited as she once again tries (and fails) to project her spirit past the barrier surrounding the city. ]

[She did it. She finally made it happen. She made it to the air temple island!

Ruby, staff in hand, is taking in every aspect of this island, completely mesmerized by it all, especially since there was nothing like this back home! It was all so... aged. And rustic. She knew it was not as old as any other air temples out there, but still.

Where were all the other airbenders, though? Regardless, she'll just invite herself in! She's not going to steal anything, she promises.]

For Yuri this is just another day in the life of a poor guy in Republic City. While he had been pulled here with a bunch of other people, his memories had been altered and he believes to have lived in this world his entire life. Though not exactly long in Republic City, but he was starting to get pretty comfortable with this place.

Today he's just walking along, minding his own business. And some might notice that he's not at all afraid to show that he has a weapon in public. The long fancy katana dangling by a strap from his left hand as he went, or he let it rest casually on his shoulder.

Beside him is a... very interesting looking dog. Repede following his master's side with that pipe clutched between his teeth. They're quite the interesting looking pair.

B.

After having completed a job and getting a bit of money, Yuri decided to treat himself at one of the local pubs. He's not exactly a heavy drinker, and just goes for the heck of it when he feels like it. So he's casually sitting in a chair with his drink and a bit of food he had ordered. Repede is waiting outside as people don't really take kindly to animals inside their establishments.

He's just keeping to himself, but he wouldn't mind a bit of company if someone decided to join him.

Okay, so Colette's the one who's more likely to go up to random dogs and try to pet them. That doesn't mean Lloyd can't like dogs, too. He's really just passing by the pub when he sees Repede sitting there. Waiting. All by himself. Maybe a little lonely, which Lloyd can empathize with completely. Being stuck in an unfamiliar city can do that to you.

Never mind what the dog looks like. Lloyd has a skewed sense of what a normal dog looks like anyway.

"Hey there, buddy," he says, tone friendly as he approaches with open hands. "You out here waiting for someone?" What? Dogs are smart! Of course he expects to be understood, on a base level if nothing else.

The Poorest Outskirts of Dragon Flats Borough, Around Mid- to Late-Afternoon

[Being good on his word, Wan had indeed taken the extra care packages Asami had let him get away with taking to where he knew some of the homeless people of the city gathered for warmth and what camaraderie they could get. He was not giving the packages out the way Future Industries had, instead he had opened them up and separated their parts into piles (blankets, maps, money, etc) and was handing out the individual things people needed. Most of the maps were going into fires to burn and blankets were being exchanged for dirty ones so Wan could wash them and bring them back.

The money was not actually being handed out. Wan had other plans for it: buying medicine and food.

If he happens to notice anyone that looks homeless that isn't part of the group he'd half-adopted for the day, he smiles warmly at them and greets them with a kind:]

Do you need any medicine? I'm buying that first and if you need anything, I'll add it to the list.

I'm tempted. [It wasn't as if most places were off limits but Nabooru happened to feel a little poorly about being in the slums and actually thinking about taking things she didn't need. Less unfortunate and all that. Not everyone was accustomed to the life she lived. Thieving.

But she had wanted to check it out to at least see what kind of poor souls were gathering.] But I'm sure there are people who need it more than me or my girls. [But it was somewhat nice to see him again.]

[You close your eyes for one minute and--

Sokka, dressed up in Boiling Rock prison guard armor, sits up and rubs his head through his helmet.]

I am like eighty-seven percent sure Azula couldn't have kidnapped me from a balloon. Eighty-seven. And even if she did, I'm ninety-two percent sure that Zuko or Suki would have been targeted first, and I'd've heard the screaming?

Unless they're plotting to rescue me... y'know anything about that? [He darts up and, lifting his helmet visor, taps the nearest person on the shoulder.] Kidnappings, princesses, escape attempts, gotta hear it.

[Aang is in his formal airbending robes and a hat as he checks out some posters for some of Republic City's different attractions, when Sokka taps him on the shoulder.

He turns and blinks as he takes in the sight of Sokka dressed like a Fire Nation guard.]

Sokka? Is that you? Why are you dressed like that and talking about princesses?

[Some other passers by gave Sokka curious looks for the outdated armor he's wearing. "That must be one of those historic costume players I've heard so much about," one man says confidently to his wife.]

A - Probending Arena

Kuruk had been bewildered at first when he arrived in Republic City instead of waking up in his home at the Northern Water Tribe. His family was nowhere to be found and it was of course warm. He'd set aside his heavy furs somewhere safe and taken to exploring the city bare armed. Already he'd learned about probending, asked for directions from a weird man with a mustache, and promptly arrived at the Probending Arena to be rejected for participation because not only did he lack a team, but it was already mid-season. There wasn't even a match playing, so he lingered outside the arena to see if any players would show up and give him a demonstration. Or perhaps even accept his challenge!

B - Air Temple Island

He'd spent the previous four years of his life mastering Airbending. So when he heard there was a fifth Air Temple now, he couldn't resist checking it out. Taking to the bay, he had crossed it with an irresponsibly large tidal wave to surf his way to the shore of the island. When he had, he found something familiar! Those stupid spinning doors. He remembered it had taken him a few tries to get that one down. Basic airbending, but he was itching for a challenge again. But not without an audience and another airbender to get him started.

C - Upper City, Market District

Well it was evening and Kuruk was no closer to getting home. He'd already tried meditating on Air Temple Island to get advice from Yangchen, but he couldn't get in contact with her. Even entering the Spirit World had felt strangely uncomfortable. The world had shifted somehow and there was something very wrong with the world. But more troubling was an empty belly, no place to sleep, and trying to convince the high priced hotel that he deserved to stay because he was the Avatar.

"The Avatar?" The clerk said derisively. "Please, no one is that stupid. Next!"

Kuruk was not given opportunity to prove otherwise. He scowled and left to try the not-quite-as-nice place further down the street.

C

Yuri had caught sight of this guy at the market and even overheard him. Thus he watched him for a while, even kinda feeling sorry for him. So when Kuruk's next attempt was a botched one, Yuri could be heard nearby.

"I've seen some pretty desperate people who will do anything to get a bite to eat, but that kinda takes the cake."

The source of the voice is a smirking young man with long black hair and a sword resting on his shoulder. A weird looking dog standing at his side, who woofs in agreement with his master's words.
