Welcome to Republic City!
It was a bright and sunny normal day in Republic City. Children were playing, spirits were chirping about, and everything was going along like normal. Well at least that's what everyone seemed to think. That is until so many people seemed to be appearing out of nowhere. For some reason Republic City seemed to be more lively and the crowds bigger.
The spirits have grown restless as if something important was about to change, and to try to fix that change, the spirits with their big long tree like limbs dragged people into the world left and right. Even the vines covering Republic City seemed to help. Although the spirits had the best intentions in mind, some people were more affected by the grab than others. There's talk that people in this city don't even know what this place is. People who have never heard of the words "bender" or "non-bender."
Welcome to Republic City! And to those who already live here: Happy Saturday. Please make yourselves at home and don't mind a little spirit gunk. It's mostly harmless. Go enjoy yourself a classic mover. Maybe you're the athletic type. If that's the case, come watch a few Pro-bending matches or form your own team. Just watch out for any Satomobiles. They can be deadly no matter how pretty the driver is.
Please remember to enjoy your stay and don't cause too much trouble. The Republic City Police don't need more riffraff to take care of. And don't stray too far. To make the the peace is kept, there's a huge spirit barrier around the perimeter of the city. It seems pretty strong, but it won't be able to last forever. Still, it's worrying. Radio signals and telegraphs don't seem to be getting past it.
[ OOC: The game is officially open! From this point on, feel free to make any posts you want or tag into this. Please remember to tag your posts with Canon: Character. Sokka, dressed up in Boiling Rock prison guard armor, sits up and rubs his head through his helmet.]
I am like eighty-seven percent sure Azula couldn't have kidnapped me from a balloon. Eighty-seven. And even if she did, I'm ninety-two percent sure that Zuko or Suki would have been targeted first, and I'd've heard the screaming?
Unless they're plotting to rescue me... y'know anything about that? [He darts up and, lifting his helmet visor, taps the nearest person on the shoulder.] Kidnappings, princesses, escape attempts, gotta hear it.
no subject
He turns and blinks as he takes in the sight of Sokka dressed like a Fire Nation guard.]
Sokka? Is that you? Why are you dressed like that and talking about princesses?
[Some other passers by gave Sokka curious looks for the outdated armor he's wearing. "That must be one of those historic costume players I've heard so much about," one man says confidently to his wife.]
no subject
[You, uptake, what is this.
He's about to say more, but he cranes his head after that one passerby.]
I can be historic, I just don't want to be dead.
no subject
[As for the civilians, they don't understand, but they don't particularly care either and ignore the weirdo as they go about their way.]
no subject
[He thumps Aang on the shoulder.]
Gosh, wouldn't that be great, though? Too bad her being the princess of the aforementioned prison makes it extremely unlikely.
no subject
[He rubs at his shoulder.]
She definitely got locked up somewhere. I know Zuko made sure of it, and she's probably not that prison's princess either.
no subject
Who's confusing who here? Last I checked, it would be Azula locking Zuko up.
I mean, no offense to him, I'm sure he's great at the teaching you thing, but if I had to bet on a fight between them, I'd bet on her.
I have a little sister. Trust me.

[Kuruk stood in front of Sokka and smirked. He recognized a Fire Nation soldier when he saw one. Sure, he expected the uniform to be more spiky, but it was close enough. And if he knew one thing about Fire Nation soldiers...
He pointed a finger at him.]
I challenge you to an Agni Kai!
no subject
You- you should-
[...agni kai, agni kai, where have I heard that before...]
No challenge necessary. [The visor on his helmet slips down over his nose.] I'll just... concede, and be on my way, and you can just...
[...he squints, again, because agni kai is a firebender thing, isn't it? And you are very clearly not--]
Aang? Are you letting your previous lives get you into trouble again?

"Excuse me, I don't mean to interrupt but I'm pretty sure Azula has nothing to do with this, if she did I would have known." Really, they had been having such a good time and the princess hadn't so much as whispered a word about using the spirit world to pull them to a whole new land. "This is clearly far beyond her-- I mean, Azula's good, but I don't think she's this good."
Not to mention, she hadn't seen a sign of either Azula or Mai since her own arrival, but that was another concern altogether.
no subject
Thank you, ugly full-face helmet.
"You're not interrupting," he said, voice deepening. The beard would complete the impression he wanted to give, but putting it on now would be just a skosh obvious, would it not? "In fact, your insights into the princess are most invaluable."
His nightmares would not be quite as fearsome, now that he had decent confirmation Azula was not this capable.
"Unless you're wrong, of course, but what are the odds of that?"
no subject
"If you know Azula, then you know it's not possible for me to be wrong on this one." She placed her hands on each hip, frowning at the guy.
no subject
Did she have a title? Nobility wasn't much of a thing in the Southern Water Tribe but the Fire Nation was charmingly old-fashioned.
Would he give himself away by not using a title for the famous Ty Lee?
Or, perhaps Sokka was overthinking things. What would a lowly prison guard at the Boiling Rock know about princesses?
"We don't hear much about princesses in the colonies, ma'am," he said. When it doubt, play dumb. It worked before!
no subject
"Really? I thought everyone knew all about Azula and everything she does!" Consider yourself lucky Boiling Rock Guard from the Fire Nation Colonies, because you just happen to be facing one of Azula's best friends! "Don't worry, I can brush you up on everything you need to know!"
She takes a deep breath before launching into Azula 101. "First, you should know she's really pretty, but not to be underestimated!" Outside of this situation, of course, but Ty Lee assumes that can go unsaid. "If you ever see her, since you're a guard you should probably agree to anything she asks you to do. Oh, and she's a really good at fire bending and can even bending lightning!"
If he doesn't stop her she will keep going on.
no subject
"Lightning, wow. I'd agree to anything she said even if she wasn't the most perfect princess ever."
...and forgive him, please, Yue and Suki both, for ever saying that.

"Sokka!"
no subject
"This-- this is not where I thought we were going." His arms tighten. "I miiiiight have to work on my rescuing skills. Blame Zuko."
no subject
"You knew we were coming here?" she asks, eyes still bright as she looks him over. Something is a little off, but he's definitely her Sokka. She does make a face when he tells her to blame Zuko, though, and laughs it off. "Why would I blame the fire lord? And what are you rescuing me from?"
It's then that she notices his fire nation guard uniform, and she blinks, a somewhat shocked expression replacing her lighthearted confusion.
no subject
Maybe Zuko isn't to blame at all. Maybe it's Katara saving people...
"Well, I guess 'rescuing' is kind of a strong word," he admits. "We were back up, you did a lot of the heavy lifting... yes, I haven't changed out of the armor. Haven't had time. I'd like time, this stuff is heavy and way too fire-y."
no subject
The realization shocks her through the core, but like the warrior she is, she doesn't let it set her off.
no subject
Wait...did you say Azula? As in, Princess of the Fire Nation Azula?
[If he did, then that means this poor guy's completely out of his time, just like Aang is.]
no subject
I don't think it's a popular name. I mean, she'd probably try to take it back from you if you had it, but yeah. Gotta be her.
no subject
[Oh, boy. This isn't going to be good.]
This is going to sound weird, but...what's the last thing you remember?
no subject
[He crosses his arms. Her distinct lack of Fire Nation-ness is a big plus, always, but he's not exactly the most optimistic optimist in the world.]
Weird is kind of my life right now. I don't hold you sounding weird against you. If I did that, I'd run out of things to hold, seriously.
no subject
I’m Korra. [She crosses her arms.] You didn’t exactly say what your name is either, Mr. Unknown Water Tribe Individual. I just told you mine, so it’s fair if you tell me yours, right?
