Welcome to Republic City!

It was a bright and sunny normal day in Republic City. Children were playing, spirits were chirping about, and everything was going along like normal. Well at least that's what everyone seemed to think. That is until so many people seemed to be appearing out of nowhere. For some reason Republic City seemed to be more lively and the crowds bigger.

The spirits have grown restless as if something important was about to change, and to try to fix that change, the spirits with their big long tree like limbs dragged people into the world left and right. Even the vines covering Republic City seemed to help. Although the spirits had the best intentions in mind, some people were more affected by the grab than others. There's talk that people in this city don't even know what this place is. People who have never heard of the words "bender" or "non-bender."

Welcome to Republic City! And to those who already live here: Happy Saturday. Please make yourselves at home and don't mind a little spirit gunk. It's mostly harmless. Go enjoy yourself a classic mover. Maybe you're the athletic type. If that's the case, come watch a few Pro-bending matches or form your own team. Just watch out for any Satomobiles. They can be deadly no matter how pretty the driver is.

Please remember to enjoy your stay and don't cause too much trouble. The Republic City Police don't need more riffraff to take care of. And don't stray too far. To make the the peace is kept, there's a huge spirit barrier around the perimeter of the city. It seems pretty strong, but it won't be able to last forever. Still, it's worrying. Radio signals and telegraphs don't seem to be getting past it.

Ty Lee quirked an eyebrow at the voice change... Or maybe she was just imagining things? This guy sure didn't look like a huge guard, but for now she'd just go along with it.

"If you know Azula, then you know it's not possible for me to be wrong on this one." She placed her hands on each hip, frowning at the guy.

...was Ty Lee famous? Famous as Azula's henchlady?

Did she have a title? Nobility wasn't much of a thing in the Southern Water Tribe but the Fire Nation was charmingly old-fashioned.

Would he give himself away by not using a title for the famous Ty Lee?

Or, perhaps Sokka was overthinking things. What would a lowly prison guard at the Boiling Rock know about princesses?

"We don't hear much about princesses in the colonies, ma'am," he said. When it doubt, play dumb. It worked before!

Colonies? Ty Lee quirks her head to the side and raises an eyebrow. She was sure he was wearing a Boilin Rock uniform, but then again it wasn't uncommon for those of the colonies to gain guard jobs. Rather than grilling him, she let's it slide. What does strike her as odd is the lack of knowledge of their nation's princess.

"Really? I thought everyone knew all about Azula and everything she does!" Consider yourself lucky Boiling Rock Guard from the Fire Nation Colonies, because you just happen to be facing one of Azula's best friends! "Don't worry, I can brush you up on everything you need to know!"

She takes a deep breath before launching into Azula 101. "First, you should know she's really pretty, but not to be underestimated!" Outside of this situation, of course, but Ty Lee assumes that can go unsaid. "If you ever see her, since you're a guard you should probably agree to anything she asks you to do. Oh, and she's a really good at fire bending and can even bending lightning!"

If he doesn't stop her she will keep going on.

...and he's gonna let her go on. In fact, he glances up briefly, hoping for a day moon, because he'd like to convey the adoration he feels for that princess to Ty Lee, make her think he's enraptured by Azula because seriously, eventually, she'd have to give him some really good dirt, right?

"Lightning, wow. I'd agree to anything she said even if she wasn't the most perfect princess ever."

...and forgive him, please, Yue and Suki both, for ever saying that.

"As you should," she giggles. "She doesn't go easy on guards that don't listen to her. So, what brings you all the way out here." A pause, as she realizes she's still not entirely sure where they are. "Wherever here is, anyway. Did the vines bring you too?"

It was only the natural assumption considering his earlier outburst. That and the whole guard get-up wasn't something you'd see on anyone outside of duty.

"That, yeah," he says, and he's gonna have to clear his throat in a minute to keep this voice up. That and a drink of water. Acting is hard work.

"Is her Princess-ship here?" he wondered. "I wouldn't want to be caught off-guard. Or get you into trouble!"

If only she knew this "guard" was really that cute water tribe boy that hung around with the avatar. If only.

Ty Lee shakes her head in response, "I haven't seen here, but that doesn't mean she's not here! This city is really big, I don't think I've even seen half of it yet." She smiles. "Don't worry, I won't tell her you're slacking off and if she asks I'll just tell her you were helping me."

Which leads to her next question, not that Azula herself would care. "Oh, yeah. I don't think I got your name."
