It was a bright and sunny normal day in Republic City. Children were playing, spirits were chirping about, and everything was going along like normal. Well at least that's what everyone seemed to think. That is until so many people seemed to be appearing out of nowhere. For some reason Republic City seemed to be more lively and the crowds bigger.

The spirits have grown restless as if something important was about to change, and to try to fix that change, the spirits with their big long tree like limbs dragged people into the world left and right. Even the vines covering Republic City seemed to help. Although the spirits had the best intentions in mind, some people were more affected by the grab than others. There's talk that people in this city don't even know what this place is. People who have never heard of the words "bender" or "non-bender."

Welcome to Republic City! And to those who already live here: Happy Saturday. Please make yourselves at home and don't mind a little spirit gunk. It's mostly harmless. Go enjoy yourself a classic mover. Maybe you're the athletic type. If that's the case, come watch a few Pro-bending matches or form your own team. Just watch out for any Satomobiles. They can be deadly no matter how pretty the driver is.

Please remember to enjoy your stay and don't cause too much trouble. The Republic City Police don't need more riffraff to take care of. And don't stray too far. To make the the peace is kept, there's a huge spirit barrier around the perimeter of the city. It seems pretty strong, but it won't be able to last forever. Still, it's worrying. Radio signals and telegraphs don't seem to be getting past it.

He's pretty much a flattery-bender. And at this point most of the panic of being in this new place suddenly had subsided, so he's able to be his carefree normal self. Especially when making a new friend!

"The Borough, huh?" He glances in that direction for a moment. "Iiiii don't think I've been over there before. Is it nice?"

"It's not bad," she said with a nod. "But it's a lot different than my own home. I'm still getting used to it."

"I'm still getting used to this whole city!" he laughs. "I'm not used to places this big... but it sounds like you're gonna get to like it here at least."

"We'll see," Weiss shrugs. "It's certainly a lot to take in, even though I came from a city. Where did you come from before this, Aang?"

"Me? Welllll I came from... Kangaroo Island!" He says with a quick nod. That's his official cover story. "Everything there's small."

Hm, Weiss has certainly never heard of that place. She actually looks as though she is trying to remember where, on the map, it is. She even considers asking, but wonders if that will be rude, and the last thing Weiss wants is to be rude to a amicable kid.

"I see. Have you made any friends yet?"

"Yep! I mean, some of my old friends are here in the city, but I've made a few new friends, too! In fact... I made one just a little while ago!" He smiles cheekily at her. "She's really nice and has really pretty white hair!"

Aang was laying on the charm again, the flatterer. Weiss chuckled at him, but her eyes showed a hint of sadness behind them that only the astute may notice. Nice? Her? She certainly wasn't nice to the woman who complimented her bending, or to the man who was trying to help her with her bags. Weiss had a lot of trouble with keeping her opinions to herself, and she judged harshly. If this boy knew that about her, he definitely would not have called her nice.

She curtsied for him anyway, to show that she appreciated the sentiment. "Well, I think she's pretty lucky if you consider her a friend."

Aang can't help it. He likes to compliment her friends. And maybe it looked like she could use the extra smile. He almost got the sense that something was wrong by looking in her eyes, but he couldn't quite figure out for sure from that.

He does chuckle lightly at the curtsy, and he bows in return. "Really? Well, I think the other person's lucky too! I hope it'll be a great friendship."

Once they are standing up straight again, she clasps her hands in front of her, still smiling warmly. At least she thinks she is smiling warmly, but the whole concept of warm is a strange concept to her.

"Are you out here by yourself?"

He gives a goofy smile in response.

"Um, right now I'm by myself. But I have a bunch of friends who- who're in the city, too. I'm gonna meet up with them later."

Meeting up with friends, that sounded nice. Weiss didn't have many friends to hang out with. Sure, she'd met Ruby and Yang, but she didn't know where they were staying or what they were doing.

"You have fun, then," she finally says, pushing her bangs out of her face. "Today, I'm looking for a job, so I don't get to play around."

"That stinks," he frets at the part about not being able to play. "Good luck with your job though! I hope you find more time to play later."

She hopes so, too. Even though Aang is young, Weiss likes him, for some reason, and not only because he complemented her. No, there is something else about him... He's like a breath of fresh air, so positive. It's infectious, really. She would not mind hanging out with him in the future.

It's a shame that today she is busy. "Once I have a job, and I will get one, then I'll be able to figure out my schedule. Perhaps we can meet up again sometime."

She looks like someone who could use some more fun and sunshine. So Aang's all too glad to befriend her.

He gives an understanding nod. "I hope so! Whenever things get settled in, we can try to find each other again. I'll be fun! It's been really nice meeting you!"

"Nice meeting you too," she nods. "I'm staying in the Dragon Flats Borough. So if you're ever around there, you're welcome to stop by."

"Dragon Flats Burrow? That's a neat-sounding name! Ill remember it and come look for you some time. I'm gonna be at Air Temple Island. So I know we'll find each other again either way.

Until then..." He waves to her as he starts to walk off. "Seeya!"

Air Temple Island... Weiss doesn't know where that is, exactly, but she knows it's not too far from the city. She looks like she might want inquire more about it, but Aang was already waving her off.

So she waves back, reluctantly walking away. Right, she had important work to do! She could find Aang again, and then learn about this Air Temple Island. Hn, so strange.

"I didn't know normal people could live there..."
