Welcome to Republic City!
It was a bright and sunny normal day in Republic City. Children were playing, spirits were chirping about, and everything was going along like normal. Well at least that's what everyone seemed to think. That is until so many people seemed to be appearing out of nowhere. For some reason Republic City seemed to be more lively and the crowds bigger.
The spirits have grown restless as if something important was about to change, and to try to fix that change, the spirits with their big long tree like limbs dragged people into the world left and right. Even the vines covering Republic City seemed to help. Although the spirits had the best intentions in mind, some people were more affected by the grab than others. There's talk that people in this city don't even know what this place is. People who have never heard of the words "bender" or "non-bender."
Welcome to Republic City! And to those who already live here: Happy Saturday. Please make yourselves at home and don't mind a little spirit gunk. It's mostly harmless. Go enjoy yourself a classic mover. Maybe you're the athletic type. If that's the case, come watch a few Pro-bending matches or form your own team. Just watch out for any Satomobiles. They can be deadly no matter how pretty the driver is.
Please remember to enjoy your stay and don't cause too much trouble. The Republic City Police don't need more riffraff to take care of. And don't stray too far. To make the the peace is kept, there's a huge spirit barrier around the perimeter of the city. It seems pretty strong, but it won't be able to last forever. Still, it's worrying. Radio signals and telegraphs don't seem to be getting past it.

[ Truthfully the money had been to buy supplies to bring with her to hand out in the Earth Kingdom, but she wasn't getting there anytime soon with this barrier and Henry's need was more immediate. Plus, she can't help but be a little curious. ]
Where is your money from? Those don't look like yuans.

It's from a place called America. You probably never heard of it before.
holy giant eagles, batman
No, I haven't. Where is it?
[ And she gestures to a nearby bench for them to sit on, away from the grumpy lady's stand. ]
it's what America is made of, eagles and freedom.
It's...well-It's in another land, like, a whole other world from here. I'm not sure how but I got here somehow. Maybe another portal or something.

[ Jinora takes a seat, looking more thoughtful than frightened. ]
The only other world I know of is the Spirit World, but I don't think there's anything like that there. I've never read anything about it... [ So any ideas of it just being really, really far away (somehow) didn't make much sense. ]

[At least he doesn't have to worry about her running off screaming about a crazy person any time soon.]
It's not in the Spirit World, we don't have any of these sparkling flying creatures in Storybrooke.
[Though now he kind of wishes they did.]
Trust me, there's a lot of other worlds out there from your own. I've been to one and read about another, but they're really hard to get to.

If you've been able to read about them, why don't we have any books on them here? [ Plus, if there were all these other worlds out there someone would have to know. The White Lotus, or the Gurus, or- ]
The Avatar would know if there were other worlds around, I think.

Well, the book I have is kind of special. It just sort of got made to tell me how to stop something really bad that happened where I'm from. See, look.
[And he pulls the book of fairy tales from his bag. Already it probably looks rather odd with the letters on the cover.
However, there is some recognition on Henry's face when Jinora mentions the 'Avatar'.]
Someone did tell me they probably would know something about this actually. I'm was actually trying to look for her.

Made to stop something bad from happening? That's a big job for a book. What does it say?
[ She's still not sure how to feel about the whole "other world" thing but hey, she's open-minded. Might as well as least hear about it, to start with. As for the Avatar, ]
Oh, I know Avatar Korra. She's my friend.
no subject
Go ahead. [Not many people take interest in his book so he's glad to share. If Jinora does open it, she will find everything is written in english text. Probably not the standard to her world. To her question, he already has an answer.]
It's sort of the history of this place called the Enchanted Forest. You see, there was this curse and everyone from there was brought over to the world I grew up in.
[And then Jinora mentions the avatar and Henry's quick to jump on that.]
You are? Then could I meet her? Someone said she might be able to help me.
no subject
That sounds fascinating. I wish I could read it. [ Of course, she doesn't really realize how bad said curse might have been. ] A curse... [ And then she glances vaguely in another direction, trying to picture something. ]
Do you think the barrier around the city here, all the weird things happening, do you think that's some kind of curse?
[ As for the Avatar, Jinora nods. ] She lives on Air Temple Island with me. She's really busy with everything happening, but I'm sure we can talk to her. Are you looking for help about... about your world?
/comes in late with starbucks. In other words I apologize school happened
[No one should not be able to partake in the joy that is fairy tales.
At her question he does give a nod.]
I think so. I'm not an expert on magic but something that powerful would have to be a curse.
[Again he gives a quick shake of his head in confirmation.]
Yeah, I was told if anyone could help me get home the Avatar could.
not a problem! as long as you brought enough starbucks to share.........
[ It's not very often Jinora meets another book-lover. Her father read and she knew it was a common hobby, but her closest companions were general her siblings who would rather build a fort out of books than read them, so she can't help but sound excited. ]
Korra's pretty good at helping people. I don't think she's ever dealt with a curse, but it doesn't hurt to try. She lives with me on Air Temple Island- [ and she gestures towards the direction of Yue Bay relative to their position. ]
of course, it just took me another few days to get it
[Henry could relate. Since he left his friends in New York not many of them really had the same passion for reading like he did.]
I know a few things about curses so if we work together I'm sure there's a way. [After all, the saviour, or Avatar of this world had to have tremendous amounts of magic.
When he looks out to Yue Bay, he does a double take. It's only now that he looks at the statue and...this looks a lot like this kid beside him. Looking between Jinora and the statue, he points out to it.]
Is that you?
that's okay, it's just the dramatic buildup to starbucks
[ Wherever that was. At the question she laughs, and although she looks pretty embarrassed there's a hint that she's sort of pleased, too. ]
Oh, no. Not me. It is my grandfather, Avatar Aang. He was the Avatar before Korra and helped start this city and end the Hundred Year War.
[ All too gladly does Jinora go right into explaining mode, assuming that since Henry doesn't know much else about the world he probably hasn't heard of Aang, either. She sounds very proud. ]
