Welcome to Republic City!

It was a bright and sunny normal day in Republic City. Children were playing, spirits were chirping about, and everything was going along like normal. Well at least that's what everyone seemed to think. That is until so many people seemed to be appearing out of nowhere. For some reason Republic City seemed to be more lively and the crowds bigger.

The spirits have grown restless as if something important was about to change, and to try to fix that change, the spirits with their big long tree like limbs dragged people into the world left and right. Even the vines covering Republic City seemed to help. Although the spirits had the best intentions in mind, some people were more affected by the grab than others. There's talk that people in this city don't even know what this place is. People who have never heard of the words "bender" or "non-bender."

Welcome to Republic City! And to those who already live here: Happy Saturday. Please make yourselves at home and don't mind a little spirit gunk. It's mostly harmless. Go enjoy yourself a classic mover. Maybe you're the athletic type. If that's the case, come watch a few Pro-bending matches or form your own team. Just watch out for any Satomobiles. They can be deadly no matter how pretty the driver is.

Please remember to enjoy your stay and don't cause too much trouble. The Republic City Police don't need more riffraff to take care of. And don't stray too far. To make the the peace is kept, there's a huge spirit barrier around the perimeter of the city. It seems pretty strong, but it won't be able to last forever. Still, it's worrying. Radio signals and telegraphs don't seem to be getting past it.

[ OOC: The game is officially open! From this point on, feel free to make any posts you want or tag into this. Please remember to tag your posts with Canon: Character. Finally, although the game has no real network, you're free to respond with prose or brackets, whatever you're comfortable with. With that said, have fun! ]
paishodown: (idk about this bro)

[Oh dear. What's going on now... Asami's eyes shift to be wary of their surroundings as she slips into a chair Korra's pulled out. Her voice is barely above a hiss.]

What's this about? I thought you were at the Southern Water Tribe...

[She seems to be sitting all right. Moving. Her demeanor is already obviously different from the state in which Asami last saw her.]
braavado: (I just got an idea)

What? No! [Korra just looks even more confused at Asami’s question.]

I was still fighting Zaheer, and then I somehow ended up back in the city. Now I’m hearing about all this other stuff going on… Asami, I… [Korra stares down at the newspapers before her—all of them describing how the Avatar had been mostly out of the public’s eye after being injured while fighting the terrorist group.] I think I’m missing a few weeks’ of memories.
paishodown: (but you're not really giving me much of)

[Asami's lips only turn down farther.]

This happened to Mako, too.

[She glances around them. Good, nobody could be listening. Mako told Asami not to tell anyone, but she's sure Korra is an exception. Especially when she's in the same situation.]

Something's been happening in the city. People appearing from completely different places and times. Last everyone knew, you had left for the Southern Water Tribe to recuperate.
braavado: (But it's just a ferry ride away)

Right. To recuperate.

[There it is again. If she'd really had to leave Republic City to be healed, probably by Sifu Katara, then whatever had happened must've been really bad. Really, really bad.

But she's here now. She's not injured, she's fine, and maybe she can figure out what's going on with the city while she figures out why she's been pushed into the future like this.]

So it's not just me. If Mako and other people are showing up in the wrong times, then there has to be a reason. Have you seen anything yet?
paishodown: (concerned)

If I have, I don't know what exactly I'm looking for. The barrier surrounding the city is what's got everyone worried, right now. We're stuck with an influx of new people and no way to contact the world outside.

[She hesitates for a moment. Yes, they have to talk about the bad situation at hand, but that's not all Asami's worried about. She doesn't let it shine through too much in her expression; things are already rough enough without her adding to the flames.]

You're sure you're okay?
