It was a bright and sunny normal day in Republic City. Children were playing, spirits were chirping about, and everything was going along like normal. Well at least that's what everyone seemed to think. That is until so many people seemed to be appearing out of nowhere. For some reason Republic City seemed to be more lively and the crowds bigger.

The spirits have grown restless as if something important was about to change, and to try to fix that change, the spirits with their big long tree like limbs dragged people into the world left and right. Even the vines covering Republic City seemed to help. Although the spirits had the best intentions in mind, some people were more affected by the grab than others. There's talk that people in this city don't even know what this place is. People who have never heard of the words "bender" or "non-bender."

Welcome to Republic City! And to those who already live here: Happy Saturday. Please make yourselves at home and don't mind a little spirit gunk. It's mostly harmless. Go enjoy yourself a classic mover. Maybe you're the athletic type. If that's the case, come watch a few Pro-bending matches or form your own team. Just watch out for any Satomobiles. They can be deadly no matter how pretty the driver is.

Please remember to enjoy your stay and don't cause too much trouble. The Republic City Police don't need more riffraff to take care of. And don't stray too far. To make the the peace is kept, there's a huge spirit barrier around the perimeter of the city. It seems pretty strong, but it won't be able to last forever. Still, it's worrying. Radio signals and telegraphs don't seem to be getting past it.

Sounds like a good deal to me! Don't think any place is really perfect, and I've been to some pretty nice ones. Did a bit of guarding our own princess, actually.

[Oh yes, this could be the start of something beautiful.]

So where's a gal like you usually start exploring?

Really, what was she like? [ Ty Lee only had experience with one princess, and let's face it-- Azula was kind of crazy.

At his question, Ty Lee looked down the street ahead of them which split off into two other streets. Without much thought, she pointed to the one to the right. ] We can start that way!

Relena? Pretty friendly, and had it bad for a buddy of mine. Sharp as the proverbial tack too.

[Hey, it was as good as any other direction in his books, and Duo offered an arm with a big goofy grin.]

Sounds good to me. Shall we then?

[ Ty Lee is gracious to take his arm ]

[ As they walk, she continuous prattling on. ]

That's a really pretty name, you don't hear names like that around here. I wonder if our princesses would be friends-- [ Then she giggles. ] Probably not, Azula has a hard time enough with Zuko and that's her own brother.

Well, I'm getting the idea that I'm pretty far from home, so I'm not surprised our names sound different too.

So, your princess has a problem brother too? Older or younger?

It does sound that way, huh? Duo isn't really a common name either!

Oh, yes! [ She loves talking about Azula, in some way it's like flaunting that she knows someone rich and powerful... That and she was her friend, so even if he didn't know who she was talking about her was still enjoyable. ] She's the youngest, her brother's name is Zuko. Of course, since he's the oldest that means he's next in line for the throne, but he was banished for the kingdom. He's back now but Azula still wants to be the next Fire Lord.

Heh. Not common where I come from either, but that's one of the reasons I like it. When I hear it being bellowed across the training room, I know I'm the one who needs to get with the running and not some other guy.

[He wasn't too bad at rubbing elbows with the rich and famous either. And occasionally rubbing them the wrong way. Which could be fun.]

'Lena's the little sister too, but her brother advocated the throne. Pacifist family, you see, so after he ran off to become a soldier he figured he couldn't live up to the legacy yada yada.

[ Giggles. ] That must be a nice advantage to have! I rather like your name too, I wish my name was more unique.

[ She scrunches her nose a little. Her parents were not the most imaginative when it came to naming their daughters... ]

Ohhh, how lucky! I bet Azula wishes Zuko would do that. [ She laughs. It feels nice to talk to someone about Azula who doesn't directly know her. They can only imagine what kind of person she is, rather than think and say cruel things or shy away in fear of the friend of the princess. ] I don't think I could rule a country, I'll just stick with being friends!

Can't blame you. I'll happily leave politics to the politicians. Too much work and responsibility. Who needs that stress?

Me, I like being able to go around and do what I want. Hang out with friends, do some traveling, fun stuff like that.

[Sure, being a former pilot meant Une kept tabs on him, but that was life.]

Exactly! That's why I joined the circus in the first place! [ That and to get away from her noble family and six older sisters. ] But even with Azula I got to travel all over the world!

[ Even if traveling was in pursuit of The Avatar. ]

Circus? Lady, if I ever get the chance I have got to introduce you to my buddy Trowa. You should see what that guy can do on a tightrope.

[Not that it was particularly likely that Trowa would end up here, for all that he could figure. But hey it was a thought.]

Ohhhh! That's so great, I'd love to meet him! Maybe we can even have a tightrope-off-- Or even better, perform together!

[ You name it and Ty Lee could probably do it. ]

[Duo laughed, grinning.]

Hey, if he ever shows up here, I'll be sure to introduce the two of you.
