It was a bright and sunny normal day in Republic City. Children were playing, spirits were chirping about, and everything was going along like normal. Well at least that's what everyone seemed to think. That is until so many people seemed to be appearing out of nowhere. For some reason Republic City seemed to be more lively and the crowds bigger.

The spirits have grown restless as if something important was about to change, and to try to fix that change, the spirits with their big long tree like limbs dragged people into the world left and right. Even the vines covering Republic City seemed to help. Although the spirits had the best intentions in mind, some people were more affected by the grab than others. There's talk that people in this city don't even know what this place is. People who have never heard of the words "bender" or "non-bender."

Welcome to Republic City! And to those who already live here: Happy Saturday. Please make yourselves at home and don't mind a little spirit gunk. It's mostly harmless. Go enjoy yourself a classic mover. Maybe you're the athletic type. If that's the case, come watch a few Pro-bending matches or form your own team. Just watch out for any Satomobiles. They can be deadly no matter how pretty the driver is.

Please remember to enjoy your stay and don't cause too much trouble. The Republic City Police don't need more riffraff to take care of. And don't stray too far. To make the the peace is kept, there's a huge spirit barrier around the perimeter of the city. It seems pretty strong, but it won't be able to last forever. Still, it's worrying. Radio signals and telegraphs don't seem to be getting past it.

You're probably right about that one. After all, being a mover star and a pro-bender are likely going to keep me busy enough as is!

Oh yeeeeeah, you wouldn't know about all of that since you're... well, from the past. Even though you might have been around for the start of pro-bending by the time you died, but you being your earlier self certainly wouldn't know about it. [Cute Bolin. You just met the prior Avatar, and you've already mentioned that they die at some point. Spoiler alert.]

Anyway, pro-bending is this great amazing contest between teams of earthbenders, waterbenders, and firebenders. It's like a sport where you have to knock the other team back into this pool of water to show off your bending superiority! It's really fun; you should try it one day!

And movers are these really great moving pictures that tell stories! And I got to be the main character of one of them. The Adventures of Nuktuk: Hero of the South!

[Aang knows all too well about that 'spoiler'. It's hard to be around this place for more than a few minutes without seeing a sign that he's gone. A new Avatar running around. He does frown a little at the mention of his death, but then he listens attentively to what Bolin says.]

Probending sounds like a pretty neat sport! I think I prefer games that have less superiority... but maybe I'll try someday!

Moving... pictures. [He repeats to himself to try to visualize it. It's not easy, however.] Nuktuk... Never heard of that guy! Is that South like Southern Water Tribe?

It's really fun! My team—well Mako's team—won the championship two years ago, and I'm hoping to repeat that feat with my own team this year. You should come check out a match. The city is really into it!

And yeah, the Southern Water Tribe! Can you believe they made me out to be a waterbender with all those special effects? [He laughs about it, knowing full well just how silly they looked in real life, but the camera captured them really well.] It was all part of trying to convince President Raiko to help liberate the Southern Water Tribe from the Northern Water Tribe's invasion!

Wow, you got effected into being a Waterbender? That's so cool! That makes you, like, half an Avatar, Bolin! The North was trying to invade the South... I hope you guys got to stop it. That doesn't sound right.

You really think so? Half an Avatar? [Bolin is clearly giddy as all get out to be given such a compliment.] I never thought about it that way!

But yeah, we were able to stop it, though let me tell you, it was a close one. [Bolin is practically punctuating every word here, as if it were an octopus whale of a tale.] We nearly lost that one because Unalaq ended up becoming the Dark Avatar and nearly wiped out the city and almost ended the entire line of Avatars.

[Okay, Bolin. You are now giving Aang the entire history of your life now. You should stop. But he's really not going to.]

It's a neat way to think about it, right?

Wait... a Dark Avatar? Is that even possible?

Oh yeah, you wouldn't have any knowledge about Unavaatu, would you? From what everyone said, he turned into this fifty-story tall spirity monster that shot big purple beams of doom. Or something like that. My brother and I were a little busy trying to keep all the dark spirits from Korra's body while she was fighting it in spirit form.

Really? That... sounds really odd. But I'm glad everything turned out okay?

Well, yeah...

You know, for the former Avatar, you certainly are taking all this surprisingly in stride.

What can I say... I guess I'm just a happy-go-lucky Avatar?

[Definitely more happy-go-lucky than Korra for sure.

[Still... kind of awkward.

[So awkward.]

Anyway, I guess I should get back to looking for my girlfriend around here. I... guess I'll be seeing you around some other time? I mean, I really hope I do.

[Pause.]

I... wouldn't be able to get your autograph before I go, would I?

[Bolin, ever the fanboy of Team Avatar the First.]

Um.. Sure! Why not... [Awkward pause, shuffle.] Do you have, like... paper and something to write with...?

Of course! [Bolin puts his pack down and rummages through it for a small sheet of parchment and a pen before handing them both to Aang.] And I know you're trying to keep yourself on the down low what with the whole A-A-A-N-G thing, but don't worry. I'll make sure to keep it secret and not tell anybody.

[Famous last words.]

Thanks, Bolin. [He smiles fondly as he takes the items in his hands.] I knew I could count on a good friend of Korra's.

[And then he signs it "To Bolin, a Super Trusty Friend. How are You?" He's not sure how autographs are supposed to go. But then, his name is signed beneath, as "Your pal, Aang!"

[And as he gets the autograph back, he can't help but tear up a bit. He's just met the previous Avatar, and already he's a Super Trusty Friend? Sniff sniff.

[This is the best day of his life.]

[Sniff, sniff.]

Yeah, I'll be fine, [he says between sniffles. Finally he stands up, still a little emotionally.] I guess I'll see you around. Thanks... again!

You're... um, welcome! [He waves awkwardly as Bolin leaves.] It was nice to meet you? [Now time for the baby bison to continue dogpiling him.]

Nice to meet you too, Aang! Or I mean, Aaang! [And with a rather non-awkward wave, Bolin heads off to the dormitories.]
