It was a bright and sunny normal day in Republic City. Children were playing, spirits were chirping about, and everything was going along like normal. Well at least that's what everyone seemed to think. That is until so many people seemed to be appearing out of nowhere. For some reason Republic City seemed to be more lively and the crowds bigger.

The spirits have grown restless as if something important was about to change, and to try to fix that change, the spirits with their big long tree like limbs dragged people into the world left and right. Even the vines covering Republic City seemed to help. Although the spirits had the best intentions in mind, some people were more affected by the grab than others. There's talk that people in this city don't even know what this place is. People who have never heard of the words "bender" or "non-bender."

Welcome to Republic City! And to those who already live here: Happy Saturday. Please make yourselves at home and don't mind a little spirit gunk. It's mostly harmless. Go enjoy yourself a classic mover. Maybe you're the athletic type. If that's the case, come watch a few Pro-bending matches or form your own team. Just watch out for any Satomobiles. They can be deadly no matter how pretty the driver is.

Please remember to enjoy your stay and don't cause too much trouble. The Republic City Police don't need more riffraff to take care of. And don't stray too far. To make the the peace is kept, there's a huge spirit barrier around the perimeter of the city. It seems pretty strong, but it won't be able to last forever. Still, it's worrying. Radio signals and telegraphs don't seem to be getting past it.

[Okay, that is certainly a drastic change of topic. Why would Mako suddenly not want to talk about pro-bending all of a sudden?]

Of course I do! How could I possibly forget? [It literally made up for all that time of being frustrated over metalbending.] But, Mako, I don't think they're going to allow that in the ring, even if it's not mentioned in the rulebook.

[God, he saw it coming. HE SAW IT. And Mako rubs the bridge of his nose with gloved fingers.]

No, they’re not. Just like they don’t allow lightning.

[Now he’s getting sidetracked.]

Bo. When we were going to get Korra back from Zaheer; that’s the last thing I remember before being back here. The vines must have brought me here from two weeks ago.

Did that happen to you too? [The way his brother’s trying for pro-bending again, he’s doubting it with every passing moment.]

[Okay, so that takes Bolin by surprise. Because how could that even be anything that could possibly happen. Bolin, reaches out and puts an arm on his shoulder, a grin on his face.]

Mako, did you hit your head on something and forget everything that happened after that? I mean, you were awesome! We went after Korra, and you single-handedly took down that weird waterbender girl without any arms. I mean, I didn't see you do it because I was a bit busy throwing lava at that other guy, but you told me all about it, and it sounded amazing.

[The smile on his face is practically one of older brother worship. As much as Mako is the realist to Bolin's wanton idealism, he still loves his brother so much.]

And then the airbenders took down Zaheer, and Suyin managed to save Korra... though to be honest, she didn't really look all that good afterwards. I mean, we saw her at Jinora's thing, but she's been hard to find, to be honest.

And then the airbenders took down Zaheer, and Suyin managed to save Korra... though to be honest, she didn't really look all that good afterwards. I mean, we saw her at Jinora's thing, but she's been hard to find, to be honest.

[Mako's not taking his eyes off Bolin as he tries to keep up. Last time he fought Ming Hua, he lost hard and it could have cost both of them their lives and he gives his a brother a surprised, serious look.]

So, we stopped lava guy and water arm lady. Save Korra? The airbenders got Zaheer, what happened to Korra?

[He puts up a hand to stop two people that came up to get a flyer. This is too important for him to care about the pro-bending right now.]

[And here Bolin was about to hand a flyer to those two guys too. Man, bro, you can be no fun sometimes, you know that? Bolin looks a little crestfallen, and unfortunately it's not just because of the fliers. Bolin becomes a little more uneasy now with the shift in topic, and he practically twiddles his thumbs to buy himself just a little bit of time in the telling of things.]

Well, thaaaaaat's a slightly less... good story, bro.

[He tugs at his collar in a way that would make someone look suspicious... if it weren't for the fact that it was Bolin.]

I bet you wouldn't know about the poison that the Red Lotus put into her, would you?

[He is going to have to tell him that, isn't he?]

[Knowing his brother's behavior better than anyone else, he did practically raise him as he grew up after all, Mako fixed his look on Bolin.]

No. I wouldn't. I thought you said Suyin saved Korra!

[How the, what even, bro??]

I'm telling you the truth, bro! [Bolin doesn't really want to tell the story, but he knows that Mako isn't going give up until he knows exactly what happened. Bolin stops fidgeting and takes a deep sigh, resigning to the fate that was handed to him.]

Well, you see, apparently the Red Lotus put this metallic poison stuff into Korra to force her into the Avatar State... and in doing so kill her so that they could end the whole Avatar cycle business. Kind of a big thing. So Zaheer and Korra started flying through the air, zooming about and whatnot. But...

While the airbenders managed to take down Zaheer... and Suyin did get the poison out of her...

[He takes a deep calming breath to try to tell the last part of the story. It... doesn't really work, and Bolin starts to tear up a bit, obviously emotional. It's clear Korra meant a lot to Bolin.]

She didn't look good, bro. She was practically in a coma for... I don't even know how long! She was alive, but I never saw her out of her bed.

[Mako just stares at Bolin, but his mind's elsewhere. Mostly on Korra and how their rushing to get to her would have ended up in vain. It's not until Bolin's sniffle catches his attention and drags it back to there here and now.]

It's Korra, bro. She'll get through it. [He puts his arm around him, still disconcerted at the news. The reassurance is just as much for himself as it is for Bolin, but Mako's always been good at keeping anything bothering him under a tight lid.]

[Bolin is thankful for Mako's reassurance and the nice gesture, but even if it is Korra, and yes, she is tough, Bolin gets all sentimental about things like this.]

You sure, Mako? I've never seen her quite that weak before, even after she lost Raava back at the Harmonic Convergence. But I hope you're right about it; she may be Korra, but I can't help but worry about her nonetheless.

I’m sure. [If anyone knows Korra, it’s him. Not Wu.]

Maybe you should go talk to her, see how she is. She’s pulled through tougher things than both of us put together.

[And that’s no small compliment.]

[He sighs a bit; certainly Mako does know best sometimes.]

You're probably right, even if only to put my mind at peace about it. Now the only trick is actually finding her. I actually don't know where she's been the past while. It's like she just... vanished!

She’ll pop up, bro. Give her time. [And the only reason he’s even saying that is because he’s talked to her, but Mako’s been trying to piece things together from each member of Team Avatar individually.]

And hey, if you’re serious about doing the pro-bending deal again: good luck.

Yeah, you're right. [All things considered, Mako usually was.] She'll turn up eventually. Just gotta be patient and calm in the meantime.

[When Mako gives him that extra dose of encouragement, a bright smile pops onto Bolin's lips. He definitely wasn't expecting it, but he's ever so glad for it.]

Aww, Mako. [He pulls him in for a hug.] You're the best brother. I'm definitely going to pour my heart into the team and find the best teammates I can find!

[Oh fffffine. Mako gave a sigh and hugged his brother back all the same.]

Just let me know if you need any help breaking them in on some training. I don't get a lot of time off from work [Mainly because he'd live there if he could, but that's neither her nor there. Yes it is.] but I'll see what I can do.
