Welcome to Republic City!

It was a bright and sunny normal day in Republic City. Children were playing, spirits were chirping about, and everything was going along like normal. Well at least that's what everyone seemed to think. That is until so many people seemed to be appearing out of nowhere. For some reason Republic City seemed to be more lively and the crowds bigger.

The spirits have grown restless as if something important was about to change, and to try to fix that change, the spirits with their big long tree like limbs dragged people into the world left and right. Even the vines covering Republic City seemed to help. Although the spirits had the best intentions in mind, some people were more affected by the grab than others. There's talk that people in this city don't even know what this place is. People who have never heard of the words "bender" or "non-bender."

Welcome to Republic City! And to those who already live here: Happy Saturday. Please make yourselves at home and don't mind a little spirit gunk. It's mostly harmless. Go enjoy yourself a classic mover. Maybe you're the athletic type. If that's the case, come watch a few Pro-bending matches or form your own team. Just watch out for any Satomobiles. They can be deadly no matter how pretty the driver is.

Please remember to enjoy your stay and don't cause too much trouble. The Republic City Police don't need more riffraff to take care of. And don't stray too far. To make the the peace is kept, there's a huge spirit barrier around the perimeter of the city. It seems pretty strong, but it won't be able to last forever. Still, it's worrying. Radio signals and telegraphs don't seem to be getting past it.

[ OOC: The game is officially open! From this point on, feel free to make any posts you want or tag into this. Please remember to tag your posts with Canon: Character. Finally, although the game has no real network, you're free to respond with prose or brackets, whatever you're comfortable with. With that said, have fun! ]

[Henry does smile a bit more. As sad as how this book came to be, he can't help but feel a bit excited to talk about his book. It was his most prized possession after all and anyone who took interest in it was enough for him.]

It's a really, really, really long story. It's actually explains it all in here. The short version however? Everyone from the Enchanted Forest was brought over to my world and this book was a way to show how it happened.
raavashing: (huh: oh oh oh oh)

[His eyebrows knitted as he gave that some thought.]

Why did you need a way to show it happened?

That's...where it gets kind of complicated.

You see, nobody really remembered who they were when they got to Storybrooke. They were cursed, so, there had to be something that could tell the whole story. Otherwise, how would the curse ever break?

[He knows he's being rather simplistic with explaining, but, it's probably for the best. It'd take forever to explain how it all worked.]
raavashing: (huh: And I would do it for you)

[personal profile] raavashing 2014-10-05 03:59 pm (UTC)(link)
[Cursed? That was not something he was familiar with. At least not a real curse. Humans cried that they were cursed all the time when bad stuff happened or things they couldn't explain were going on. But there were no actual curses.]

Are you sure it was a real curse and not something else that happened?

['Curses aren't real' was left unsaid because if this kid was from another world, then maybe that world did have real curses. It was just very difficult to believe.]
truestheart: (I would totally set fire to you)

[personal profile] truestheart 2014-10-05 04:05 pm (UTC)(link)
[That is not the correct question, Wan. Henry's excitement soon turns to minor annoyance at the question. It just sounded like a polite way of asking if he was making it up.]

I poisoned myself to help break it. I think I know what actually happened.

[It does sound snippy but that's only because he gets the feeling like he's getting called crazy here.]

raavashing: (upset: Cause I know I’ll never be lonely)

Easy kid, I-

Wait. You poisoned yourself? How would that stop anything except your life?
truestheart: (hmmm)

[personal profile] truestheart 2014-10-05 04:16 pm (UTC)(link)
[Okay, maybe that wasn't the right thing to say.]

It wasn't like normal poison. It just, kind of put me to sleep.

[Though he will leave out the part that he almost died from it.]

The only way I could wake up was through true love's kiss and that's what broke the curse.
raavashing: (Neutral: If you need help-)

[personal profile] raavashing 2014-10-05 04:36 pm (UTC)(link)
True love's kiss?

[This was getting weirder and weirder.]

You're saying someone had to kiss you to wake you up and doing that also broke this curse that made everyone forget who they were?
truestheart: (believer)

[personal profile] truestheart 2014-10-05 04:39 pm (UTC)(link)
That's exactly what I'm saying.

[There's a firmness when he says it. Resolute to get the point across that this is a thing.

Don't question it.]
raavashing: (Huh: When all of your flaws)

[personal profile] raavashing 2014-10-05 11:43 pm (UTC)(link)
[He's obviously skeptical, but he's not questioning it. Out loud.]

So who kissed you?
truestheart: (Killian why can't we use GPSes)

[personal profile] truestheart 2014-10-06 02:04 am (UTC)(link)
My mom did.

[But, he's quick to add:]

On the forehead. [That way it gets that pesky awkwardness that could've happened out of the way.]
raavashing: (huh: And I would do it for you)

[personal profile] raavashing 2014-10-06 11:49 pm (UTC)(link)
Is that important? Where she kissed you?
truestheart: (hmmm)

[personal profile] truestheart 2014-10-07 02:27 am (UTC)(link)
[There's just a shrug.]

No reason. It just gives a clearer picture of what happened.
raavashing: (Huh: When all of your flaws)

[personal profile] raavashing 2014-10-09 03:11 am (UTC)(link)
Oh. And that's really all it took? A kiss?
truestheart: (believer)

[personal profile] truestheart 2014-10-10 02:08 am (UTC)(link)
Uh huh. True love's kiss was the only thing to break the curse on me and true love is the most powerful magic of them all.
raavashing: (Neutral: For a little touch)

[personal profile] raavashing 2014-10-10 02:56 pm (UTC)(link)
Magic doesn't really exist in this world. There are some things that are close to magic, mostly the spirits, but nothing like that where a kiss, no matter how true the love in it, will do anything but make the person you're kissing feel better. If they like being kissed.

[personal profile] truestheart 2014-10-11 03:20 am (UTC)(link)
That's the thing, true love can transcend all realms. Where I was from never had magic, but, I was saved in the end because that's how true love works. It just depends on the situation.
raavashing: (upset: and all of my flaws)

[personal profile] raavashing 2014-10-11 11:37 pm (UTC)(link)
I really don't think it works that way.

[Because if a place didn't have magic, it didn't have magic. Period.]

But it doesn't matter right now, either. You should be looking for a place to hole up, where you can be safe when you need to.
truestheart: (hmmm)

[personal profile] truestheart 2014-10-13 04:44 am (UTC)(link)
Like I said it's a long story.

[He can tell Wan doesn't completely believe him. He's just not going to bother with the skepticism right now Henry can prove he's right later.]

Yeah, you're probably right. I just need some place that my family will have an easy way of finding.
raavashing: (shock: And you were gone gone gone)

[personal profile] raavashing 2014-10-15 03:47 pm (UTC)(link)
Your family came too?
truestheart: (grumps)

[personal profile] truestheart 2014-10-18 12:11 am (UTC)(link)
Not...really? I haven't seen them yet, but they're bound to show up. They'll notice I'm gone and they'll already be looking for a way to get to me.
raavashing: (smile: Til I see you again)

[personal profile] raavashing 2014-10-18 12:32 am (UTC)(link)
Oh. Well, the city is big, so if it's going to be a place they can obviously find you at... you're going to have to really careful in picking something out. I don't know how much you can do without money, but, you're welcome to come stay with me until you find a place that works better.
