It was a bright and sunny normal day in Republic City. Children were playing, spirits were chirping about, and everything was going along like normal. Well at least that's what everyone seemed to think. That is until so many people seemed to be appearing out of nowhere. For some reason Republic City seemed to be more lively and the crowds bigger.

The spirits have grown restless as if something important was about to change, and to try to fix that change, the spirits with their big long tree like limbs dragged people into the world left and right. Even the vines covering Republic City seemed to help. Although the spirits had the best intentions in mind, some people were more affected by the grab than others. There's talk that people in this city don't even know what this place is. People who have never heard of the words "bender" or "non-bender."

Welcome to Republic City! And to those who already live here: Happy Saturday. Please make yourselves at home and don't mind a little spirit gunk. It's mostly harmless. Go enjoy yourself a classic mover. Maybe you're the athletic type. If that's the case, come watch a few Pro-bending matches or form your own team. Just watch out for any Satomobiles. They can be deadly no matter how pretty the driver is.

Please remember to enjoy your stay and don't cause too much trouble. The Republic City Police don't need more riffraff to take care of. And don't stray too far. To make the the peace is kept, there's a huge spirit barrier around the perimeter of the city. It seems pretty strong, but it won't be able to last forever. Still, it's worrying. Radio signals and telegraphs don't seem to be getting past it.

[Henry is actually at the park currently. He'd been pouring over his huge fairy tale book for sometime trying to find a few answers to this place, but nope. None have come. He's just about to leave when he comes across the tattooed kid in the park. Just doing whatever. He's not sure what, so, Henry's going to go investigate.]

Hey, um, what are you doing?

[Aang was doing some airbending tricks for a crowd, spinning a bunch of small objects this way and that, then he smiles as the boy approaches.]

Hey there! Nothing to see here, just some good old-fashioned airbending!

So that's what airbending looks like.

[He's kind of in awe at watching the objects fly about. It's almost like magic, but, at least this stuff didn't look like it'd kill or hurt anybody.]

What else can it do?

[Show him more and he'll fuel that ego fun loving nature of your's Aang.]

All kinds of things. Check this out! [He conjurs up an air scooter and zips in circles around Henry!]

[Okay, this kid is officially awesome in his book. He has to spin in a circle just to try and keep up with the boy on that spinning wind top to the point of dizziness. Laughter proceeds as he tries to regain steady himself.]

Do you think I could get a ride?

[Because it looks like so much fun.]

[And Aang laughs good-naturedly at the fellow boy's spinning.]

Of course! This is a good chance to try out something I've been thinking about! [He then makes a small marble of air and tosses it towards Henry's feet. Once it's below Henry, it will grow right into a matching air scooter holding Henry into the air.]

[He's not sure if this is part of the trick or if the other boy is just kind of teasing him. He stares down at the marble for just a moment, wondering what's about to happen. Then the marble just spins and blossoms out into a sphere of air and he's sitting on top of it. There's a yell of laughter as he just...kind of spins around above it while sitting atop the sphere. He-he can't really get how to make himself stay steady atop like Aang does but it's still amusing rotating mid air.]

W-Whoooa! This is amaaaaaziiii-i-i-i-iiing!

[Aang laughs some more.]

It really is, isn't it? If you try hard enough, you can get yourself balanced on it!

Okaay, okay! Let me just-!

[And he tries to copy the exact same position Aang's doing. Just cross his legs and...oops.

His foot slips and the whirling on the top goes much faster and WOOSH. He's flies off and lands right into a bush nearby.

That had to look like it hurt.]

Whoa! [He scoots on over towards the bush. He didn't think things would spiral that far out of control...]

Are you alright? [He'll offer a hand if the boy's not back on his feet yet.]

[Henry's just lying there for a good five seconds before he takes Aang's hand to pull himself up.

He's only got one thing to say to that.]

I want to do that again.

[Other than a few stray leaves in his hair he's perfectly fine.]

Are you sure? You're not hurt or anything?

Nope, I'm completely fine. Maybe a bit bruised but otherwise I'm okay.

[However, Henry only has the thought now after his little flying adventure. Maybe the flight rattled his brain back into place.

He offers a hand out to Aang with a smile.]

My name's Henry by the way.

Henry, huh? Nice to meet you! My name's Aang. [He looks at the hand for a moment, not quite sure what handshakes are. This has to be some kind of greeting custom though... so Aang holds out his hand as well, mirroring Henry's without grabbing it.]

[It's a good awkward moment when Henry puts together that maybe Aang doesn't know WHAT a handshake is. Since, the tattooed kid isn't taking his.

Wow, weird world, but maybe he's the weird one here.]

You're-you're supposed to shake it. Like this.

[And he takes Aang's extended hand and shakes it for a second before letting go and pulling away. To move away from that awkwardness he just decides to move the conversation along.]

How'd you manage to learn to do all that? Did a wizard teach you?

[Aang laughs as the handshake occurs.]

Hey, that's pretty neat. Can we try it again?

Not a wizard. It was Monk Gyatso! But he's as good as a wizard.

[Henry just looks amused himself at the fact that something as a handshake is that fun for somebody else.]

Sure.

[And three more good handshakes.]

A monk? You mean like, the kind who shave their heads and mediate a lot?

[Because Aang does certainly look the type to be one of those Buddhist monks he saw around New York.]

[More handhshakes?! Aang will make sure each one is increasingly exaggerated and silly.]

That's right! [He points to his bald head.] We're the monkiest monks you ever did see!

[Henry can just feel his arm going the highest it can before dropping right to the lowest point it can get to with each shake. If people were seeing this the motions looked like a worm wriggling about wildly.

Henry can't help but laugh a bit to those words.]

You're certainly the first monk I've ever talked to at least. I don't get to see a lot where I'm from.

Really? But there are monks where you are from... Can they fly?

Maybe in airplanes but how you were flying? No one can do that unless they have magic.

[So that's a hardish no, Aang.]

Is it important that monks fly?

I have airbending! That's better than magic. It's important for telling whether or not they're air nomads...

[Henry has to silently agree. Magic for the most part has only caused a lot of problems back home, but also has done some good...

those are just semantics. Henry just shakes his head.]

Than there's no monk like that back where I'm from.

Oh... That's okay. From what I hear, new airbenders just started showing up recently. But we air nomads, I like to think we're pretty great monks!

I think this is going to go to a dark place

Just started to? You mean there weren't any before?

[That sounds...odd.]

If air nomads have that much fun that we just did I'd have to agree with you.
