4th Wall Event

With all the excitement going on with the penguin races, the spirits came to a conclusion that the citizens and the people they brought to this city just weren't doing their best job to take care of the problem that they were sensing. Maybe they didn't bring the right people, or maybe they just needed more protection. Things seemed far too quiet and it just didn't sit well with them. So, some of the stronger spirits who preferred to watch instead of interact with humans decided to combine their powers together to summon more people from all over the worlds.






Welcome to the Fourth Wall Event of Cyclicality.

The spirits are bringing in all sorts of people for three weeks to try and gain more help and more alliances to help protect Republic City from anything that may wish to harm it. Any characters can come into the game with their powers to try and help out Republic City or just make things even more chaotic for the citizens. Your characters can come in as their original self, or you can AU them into the setting as well.

At the end of the event the new characters that were pulled into Republic City will be sent back to their own homes, unless you wish to app the character you brought in. You will be able to app them and let them keep their memories of the event. That goes for the characters already in the game as well. However, any canon powers will be lost as usual upon apping unless they're a canon bender or apped as AU. An overflow post will be posted around this time next week depending on if there are a lot of people tagging/commenting, so hop to it, everyone!

1. If you’re a player in the game and interested in participating in the event, use the [4th wall] tag. This will let everyone know if you want to participate. You can also tag posts here.

2. If you’re not in the game, you can post a starter post here or tag into someone else’s post who has the [4th wall tag].

[The spirits weren't exactly kind to Sokka when yanking him across time. One moment he was high in the air, riding atop of Appa with the company of his favourite friends in the whole wide world; the next minute he was tumbling down towards the heart of Yue Bay, splashing down with quite the dramatic splash. He manages to swim for shore once he manages to surface and grab some air, but otherwise he's entirely soaked and completely drenched.

[And he's also incredibly lost.]

Thanks Appa for not being able to fly in a straight line! Now where in the heck am I? And where did the others go?

[He'll be exploring Republic City here and there, trying to figure out where he is... and generally making snide and sarcastic comments whenever anyone asks why he's completely drenched. At least he's got a little bit of Water Tribe money on him for some delicious meat, even if he gets asked why he's got such old coins on him.]

[ Ty Lee happens to catch sight of an all-too familiar face as he's trying to pay for meat. It looks like he's in a bit of spot and she's more than willing to help him out. Sliding up beside Sokka, she holds out the correct coin to the stall worker. ]

Here, it's on me!

[Unfortunately for Sokka, that question is such an obvious one to ask.]

Whoa, you look like you just got dumped in a lake. Or... did someone dump a lake on you?

[Because it suddenly occurs to Lloyd that that could be a thing that someone could do. Man, he's still getting used to what all people's bending can do.]

[Okay, this is... not the Ginungagap. And moreover, this isn't anywhere he recognises. It's like Palmacosta or Meltokio but... not. Everything's so much busier and bigger than anything he's ever seen, and that's weird. And there are vines everywhere? Okay, that's a little weird.]

Okay, Lloyd, this isn't funny any more. I mean, I know you like childish games like hide and seek, but I think you've made your point already.

[Genis will be walking around down getting scorn from the locals because, obviously, he's not from around these parts. He might be complaining about how those humans are pretty big jerks, and that they're all the same. That might rile up a few guys, and so maybe you'll find him flicking some fireballs and icicles around.]

[It's been months since Lloyd's last seen any of his friends - even Zelos, who was here with him at the start. While Lloyd hasn't given up on finding a way back home or seeing his friends again...

Well...

Eventually there comes a point where you're not expecting to hear your best friend's voice. Lloyd starts in surprise, fumbling his hammer and nearly dropping it as he whips around. A breeze suddenly kicks up, seeming to follow the spin of his arms - but who cares if he's controlling his airbending right now?]

Genis?!

[He isn't just hearing things, he is? No, there's a silver head of hair right there!]

[Fireballs and icicles being flicked around? This is the perfect time for Colette to wander into the area. She jumps as an icicle goes flying past, eyes wide. And then she turns to catch the source.]

Genis!

[Waving! WAVE WAVE WAVE!]

I found you!

[And now run. Run run--

Floomp. Yeah, she makes it to him alright. And immediately trips a few feet from him.]

[4th Wall] [Mia - Golden Sun/AU]

[Mia is returning to Republic City via Aang's flying bison just as the spirits seem to be making more interesting complications. Though Mia's not yet aware of what's going on quite yet. She's returning from Air Temple Island via ferry and then walking along the streets with her staff at her side. She'll be asking for bits of news as she goes by and seeing if anything has changed. And then of course, she'll be putting the sign back in her window offering her services as a healer, should anyone need assistance.]

[Bolin stayed in town when the otter penguin races happened down at the South Pole, and it was nice to have something of a holiday away from work and training. Just a day to have fun. No troubles here. But he's going to be back to the grindstone now... at least mostly. Bolin can be found most at Air Temple Island, the pro-bending arena, down by the docks, and finally at the Sato mansion.]

[4th Wall] [Princess Azula -- Totally not from Avatar, nope]

[After she had confronted her mother in Hira'a, after Azula had run off into the Forgetful Valley, she found herself in this city. To say the least, it wasn't really doing anything to help her sanity.

Not that her pride would ever let her admit it, but she was overwhelmed by all of the sensory input. It was just making the voices louder, seeing as she seemed to have acquired another one aside from her mother in the last few days.

Which is why, in a fairly public place, she appeared to be having an argument with herself.]

You must have ended up here for a reason, my daughter. Perhaps this is where you'll find your destiny.

What do you know of my destiny? You know nothing! You chose to forget my entire existence while you had a new daughter.

Azula, she did what she thought was best. You don't know the full story.

Shut up, Zuzu, I never asked for your opinion. You're always going to side with her!

It doesn't matter whose side I take. In the end, we're the same side. You're my sister.

[She stopped the argument there. With an anguished growl, Azula sent a big blast of blue fire in the general direction of the hallucination she was currently suffering from. It got the voices to shut up for the time being. In the real world though, the fire landed on a tree, immediately setting the whole thing ablaze. Instead of thinking about the potential destruction it might cause or making any attempts at putting it out, Azula stood there watching it burn. Maybe she'd get enough peace and quiet to actually figure out where she was now and what to do next.]

[Unfortunately for Azula, peace and quiet is the last thing she'll get after shouting and setting things on fire. Especially not when she's got an audience - a young man dressed in red and black who had the bad luck to witness the very end of that close enough to feel the heat from the blast.]

Whoa! Hey! Watch where you're throwing those flames! What'd that tree even do to you?

[WHOA WHOA WHOA! TREE ON FIRE IS SO NOT COOL!

Wan was summoned by the spirits who hung out at the edge of the wilds. He didn't bother trying to hide his waterbending, dragging the water from the nearby river up and over to put the fire out when he arrived minutes later. He barely slid to a stop before the river rose up to douse the fire, almost like he was skating on the concrete but without the ice that normally accompanied waterbenders that did the same.

Only once the fire was out did he look for it's source. A girl. Who looked more than a little lost. There was something else about her, a tiredness maybe, that gave him a feeling something was very wrong.

She was also dressed in obvious Fire Nation clothing. So it was a very good chance she was the cause. Still, he couldn't assume outright.]

Are you the one that started the fire?

[ It was hard not to notice the woman speaking to herself on the street and quite honestly, at first Ty Lee thought it was a street performer. As one who made her living in the city purely off performing up until recently, she was more than willing to offer a bit of coin to help a fellow out. However, as she neared one of her biggest fears were finally realized.

Azula was almost exactly how she remembered her last, if not worse. The last time she saw her she had little choice but to chi block her. ]

Um... Azula? [ She neared at the wrong time and just barely managed to dodge the blue flame. She wasn't going to chi block her yes, but she was ready if she needed to. ]

[Aang, just a few months older than the end of the war and not with the tallness that he'll have during his time in Hira'a, notices the fire first.]

Whoa!

[And almost immediately he's zipping towards it on an air scooter. He's dressed as he normally is, just with a hat covering his forehead arrow.

Once he reaches the tree, he dissipates the scooter and immediately starts blowing parts of the fire out with his airbending.]

[4th Wall] [Jackie Chan - JC Adventures/AU]

[Jackie continues his seemingly endless quest of trying to find his fortune in the big city, though right now he's simply jumping from one small job to the next. He can be found down at the docks, at Avatar Korra park, and throughout the city coming and going.]

[Mike finds himself wandering Avatar Korra park, not that he knows that it's called that. In fact there's quite a bit he doesn't know at the moment. Where he is. Why everything looks like it's written in Chinese. Where his brothers are. Why...everyone keeps smiling at him, rather than running and/or screaming.

He's so distracted by the welcome wave from a small child in bright red robes that he doesn't even notice that he's about to collide with...uh...well he doesn't know Jackie's name either.]

[ What... was this place!? There were strange things on wheels rolling around and so many people! It was almost like falling out of the tower landed her in this crazy new world!

Rapunzel was really excited, but even more terrified with everything new around her. After hearing those wheel creations honk at her a few times she's kept herself near buildings instead. At least she hasn't gotten anyone tangled up in her hair yet though. ]

[Another youth runs up, garbed completely in green, with striking eyebrows and a bowlcut. And this guy currently is from this world. He looks completely amazed with both the environment and the trail of golden hair.]

This is Republic City! Isn't it a wonderful place? Ahhh... Your hair, I've never seen anything like it! Is it a secret bending technique?

[Rock Lee is a young nonbending martial artist who's been traveling through the Earth Kingdom. And now he has finally arrived in the big city!

The boy in green will eagerly run up to the first person he sees.]

Excuse me! Would you please give me a tour of this city?! I'm so excited!

Uh-- [ Well, she was headed to get some food, but it couldn't hurt to take a moment for anyone right off the bat. Really, the city should probably start offering tour guides for the newbies though. ]

Sure, why not! What would you like to see first? Avatar Korra Park? Little Ba Sing Se? Oh, I know! How about The Arena?

Oerba Yun Fang / Final Fantasy XIII

[ It would seem that fate was not on Fang's side, nor would it ever be. She had actually been having a rather good time on Pulse, taunting a Behemoth King away from her comrades when she quite suddenly found herself that was clearly neither Pulse nor Cacoon. On the bright side, she wasn't frozen... On the downside, she was now short two friends, one of which she'd sworn to protect at all costs. ]

Figures. [ With a shrug and a sigh, Fang threw her bladed lance over her shoulder and headed off to explore the city and (hopefully) find some answers. ]

[Unfortunately for her, her luck keeps going down, because not only did a big giant person bump into her just now, but he was a loud mouthed friend(?) as well. Well, a version of her friend at least.

To Snow's knowledge, he had been living in this world his whole life and just recently moved to Republic City. ]

[If you find yourself where there are a lot of spiritual energies manifesting, you may see a fairly interesting sight. There is what seems to be a Rabaroo Spirit just sniffing around, looking... well, a little on edge, in spite of its fierce glowing eyes and large build. It's trying to find something, ears pressed flat along with the rest its body as it moves with some scurrying here and there. Is it trying to come across as inconspicuous? Hmm.

[ Since her little experience with Time Travel, Ty Lee found herself spending a little more time in areas where more vine intense areas. Though she wasn't incredibly spiritual (despite her claims that she could see auras), the vines were incredibly calming. Sometimes spirit animals would pop out to see what she was doing, though so far they had been too shy or wary to actually greet her. ]

Hello, little Rabaroo! [ She waved to the spirit shuffling within the dark spaces of the vines. ] Hold on, I'll be right back!

[ Ty Lee ran off, returning ten minutes later with a small bundle. ] I don't know what spirits eat, maybe you'd like one of these?

[ Pulling a carrot out of the bundle, she waggled it in his direction. ]

[Fresh from the South Pole, and flush with his penguin racing winnings, Bumi heads into town to purchase some much coveted luxury items. Things that Air Nomads are supposed to want to go without...so long as the Air Nomad in question isn't Bumi.

Feel free to find Bumi outside the gourmet butchershop, or the fancy barbershop, or that extra nice bakery that imports the coconut candy Ember Island is famous for.]

[It took Mike all of a couple of hours of wandering Republic City to find the movie theater, and only five minutes to get inside.

Two to realize he didn't have enough money to pay for a ticket, and three to figure out which door was the fire exit. Not reading the language was seriously starting to become a huge pain in the tail.

Only slightly less challenging than that was finding a way to get snacks without money and without being seen.
Good thing he's a ninja.

Now Mike sits in the back row alternating between munching on a Varricake and Flameo's Fire Flakes.]

[Says the gangly boy in the Air Nomad initiate robes standing by the edge of the harbor. More specifically, the bit that offers one the best view of Avatar Aang Memorial Island.

[And, just yards away, an identical boy is standing and staring with widened eyes. Because it feels like he's looking into a mirror, except his reflection is staring in a different direction and even talking without him.]

The Terrible Trivium | The Phantom Tollbooth

[There is a man swinging a pocket watch around in an alley.

Perhaps man isn't accurate. Man implies that he's connected to the human race in some way, which he clearly isn't judging by the blue skin. On the other hand, traversing through the spirit world must be dangerous, even though the visitors will know that the vines protected them from ever encountering a spirit like Koh. Still, it would be easy to assume the creature had met Koh, given his lack of a face.

The man - no, creature - continues swinging his pocket watch lazily, letting the time zoom by. Most people might question why he's found himself in such a strange, different place. He doesn't. Questioning might lead to answers and answers might lead to knowledge. And to a demon of ignorance, there's nothing more terrifying than knowledge. Swinging the pocket watch will do until someone crosses his path.]
