Welcome to Republic City!
It was a bright and sunny normal day in Republic City. Children were playing, spirits were chirping about, and everything was going along like normal. Well at least that's what everyone seemed to think. That is until so many people seemed to be appearing out of nowhere. For some reason Republic City seemed to be more lively and the crowds bigger.
The spirits have grown restless as if something important was about to change, and to try to fix that change, the spirits with their big long tree like limbs dragged people into the world left and right. Even the vines covering Republic City seemed to help. Although the spirits had the best intentions in mind, some people were more affected by the grab than others. There's talk that people in this city don't even know what this place is. People who have never heard of the words "bender" or "non-bender."
Welcome to Republic City! And to those who already live here: Happy Saturday. Please make yourselves at home and don't mind a little spirit gunk. It's mostly harmless. Go enjoy yourself a classic mover. Maybe you're the athletic type. If that's the case, come watch a few Pro-bending matches or form your own team. Just watch out for any Satomobiles. They can be deadly no matter how pretty the driver is.
Please remember to enjoy your stay and don't cause too much trouble. The Republic City Police don't need more riffraff to take care of. And don't stray too far. To make the the peace is kept, there's a huge spirit barrier around the perimeter of the city. It seems pretty strong, but it won't be able to last forever. Still, it's worrying. Radio signals and telegraphs don't seem to be getting past it.

But the age wasn't even the strangest part, it was that Zuko had a daughter. "I can't imagine Zuko with a daughter at all! But I guess if he's that old I could believe it." She wouldn't ask outright, but she wondered what that meant for Mai. Her and Zuko were always so on and off again she wasn't even sure they could stay together seventy years, let alone have a child together.
"Oh, you don't need to worry about that." If he were to turn around, he'd catch the sickeningly sweet smile that spread across her face. A fight sounded like fun, and Ty Lee would just love to show her potential in front of Mako. "I can take care of myself."

But that only lasted a moment before he looked back and said "Vigilantism is a-" he balked at the smile he saw and turned back to the road.
When he had to take a turn, the scene was clear to see. A small turf war between the Red Monsoons and the Agni Kai triads, right in the slums that were a haunt for Mako and his brother. The old pet store was trashed underneath bits of earth and smoldering ash, the six fighting benders either didn't see police lights or didn't care.
Mako set down his kick stand and kept his eyes on the large bending fight. It was almost like breaking up a pro-bending fight that had thrown out all the rules.
"Just stay with the motorcycle and don't do anything crazy."
He could hope she listened to reason. Without waiting another second, Mako leaped forward and kicked out a wide arc of flame to grab their attention. "Republic City Police!" He had a feeling that wouldn't mean anything, but it's something he felt he had to declare.
And he was kind of trying to show off. Kind of.

Standing by the motorcycle, she watched Mako dash off to the scene of the crime. She watched for only a moment before she looked from the motorcycle and then back to where Mako ran off into mess of the turf war. She didn't promise to stay there and really had no intention of not getting involved from the beginning.
Her eyes darted from the fight to the buildings around the area. For the first time she was really seeing just how perfect the buildings were in the city. "Stay here," she told the bike without a backwards glance, running to a building on the opposite side of the street to the pet store.
With grace, she swung herself onto the top of the awning of the closest building and used that to easily boost herself onto the ledge of the buildings window. From there, she held on and crouched and peered around at the wreckage.

One from each side separated off from the turf war to focus on him, and his only advantage was it being a three way fight. Though it was more of making it slightly fair as opposed to being an advantage.
When he had a spare moment after dodging a bit of rock Mako looked back to find Ty Lee at the motorcycle.
Only she wasn't there. Shit. Hopefully she got away before they noticed she was with him.
"Is that all you got?" He was talking trash, getting them riled up was his best chance to make them slip up. But that still left the other four for him to take down. Why didn't he call for back up?

She lept from the window ledge and back onto the awning. It was just the boost she needed and for just a moment she felt like she was in the circus again. Unnecessarily for show, she did a flip in mid-air and landed easily on her feet. Ty Lee didn't wait to see if she had an audience this time, she made her move the second she landed.
A pink blur darted through the group of men that were too busy fighting one another while their groopies faced off against Mako. They didn't stand a chance against Ty Lee and were down within minutes, all cursing the girl out and trying to (unsuccessfully) move despite being so well chi-blocked they wouldn't be able to move for at least the next fifteen minutes. How's that for backup, Mako.

That was one down. How the hell was he going to handle this many-
Suddenly it wasn’t as loud as it had been when he arrived and he wasn’t the only one that noticed. Both his remaining triad opponents looked over and he took the chance to do so himself.
There was Ty Lee amidst a toppled pile of benders.
Surprised, Mako stared at her for a full second before he realized the opening he had. He rushed in a swept up a growing plume of fire that arced into one of the triads, sending his gangly form into the air and Mako whirled a kick to send a shot of flame after that hit him in the back to make him careen into a brick wall.
Between both him and apparently Ty Lee, how she even did that was beyond him since he didn’t see what went on, the remaining gang member put their hands up. Mako let out a relieved sigh and quickly handcuffed them.
"Thanks." He said to Ty Lee, looking at her in a mixture of appreciation, confusion, and curiosity. "I didn’t even see you bend, that must have been amazing to see." And technically he should be holding her accountable for vigilantism, but Mako wasn’t that much of a hard ass.
