It was a bright and sunny normal day in Republic City. Children were playing, spirits were chirping about, and everything was going along like normal. Well at least that's what everyone seemed to think. That is until so many people seemed to be appearing out of nowhere. For some reason Republic City seemed to be more lively and the crowds bigger.

The spirits have grown restless as if something important was about to change, and to try to fix that change, the spirits with their big long tree like limbs dragged people into the world left and right. Even the vines covering Republic City seemed to help. Although the spirits had the best intentions in mind, some people were more affected by the grab than others. There's talk that people in this city don't even know what this place is. People who have never heard of the words "bender" or "non-bender."

Welcome to Republic City! And to those who already live here: Happy Saturday. Please make yourselves at home and don't mind a little spirit gunk. It's mostly harmless. Go enjoy yourself a classic mover. Maybe you're the athletic type. If that's the case, come watch a few Pro-bending matches or form your own team. Just watch out for any Satomobiles. They can be deadly no matter how pretty the driver is.

Please remember to enjoy your stay and don't cause too much trouble. The Republic City Police don't need more riffraff to take care of. And don't stray too far. To make the the peace is kept, there's a huge spirit barrier around the perimeter of the city. It seems pretty strong, but it won't be able to last forever. Still, it's worrying. Radio signals and telegraphs don't seem to be getting past it.

[Hey, who says Lloyd would trip up Zelos's plans? He can be subtle and sneaky! Don't you remember all those times they broke into places like Human Ranches and the castle in Meltokio and even Derris Kharlan? He totally knows how not to draw attention to himself!

...you can stop laughing now.

At the question, though, the grin slips from Lloyd's face, replaced with something more worried and pensive.]

I don't know... There has to be some way through that barrier, but if it takes us too long to find it... [He shakes his head.] I have a little gald, but they don't use that money here. They use-

[Okay, he can't help it. His mouth twitches up as he pulls a paper note out, holding it out for Zelos to see. Amusement sparkles in his eyes.]

They use yuans instead.

What? Seriously?

[He laughs a bit himself, even if he doesn't find it nearly as amusing as Lloyd does. That doesn't mean he can't joke! And so he does, flipping his palms up in a sort of shrug.]

That means they're probably half the worth. [Ohhhh sick burn, etc etc.]

And that we'll have to get jobs. Aw, man.

[The joke earns and amused snort from Lloyd, though he doesn't follow it with one of his own. They do kind of have more important things to worry about.]

I know. Actually, I talked with someone about that already, and she thinks I might be able to work for her. Some of the stuff she does needs people for construction. I could do something like that.

But what about you? I don't... [He hesitates.] Zelos, call me crazy, but I don't think we're in the same world. No one'll know who you are. You'd have to get a job with just what you can do.

[What can Zelos do?]

[Looking progressively more insulted as Lloyd goes on, Zelos finally reacts to the last word of that sentence with a 'why' gesture of his hands and what seems to be a pout.]

Just what are you trying to say, hunny?! That I can't do anything myself? Ouch, I'm so hurt... [He even slumps his shoulders to show this, stepping closer and reaching up to clap a hand over one of Lloyd's shoulders shortly afterwards.]

I'll have you know I have plenty of talents you wouldn't even begin to understand. ♥ That aside, I can find a job no problem with my pleasant personality.

[Oh, don't even try to pull that with him, Zelos. Lloyd knows better than to believe that drama queen act.]

Don't call me 'hunny.' That's even worse than 'bud.'

[Actually, he's kind of even gotten a little fond of 'bud,' but 'hunny' is what Zelos calls all those girls.]

Who says I wouldn't understand? I know about all sorts of different jobs! What kind of job do you think you can get?

[luxuriant]

But you're my hunny!

[Okay, that time he's doing it just to be annoying. He'll use bud next time. Still, he snickers, flipping his hair in his confidence.]

Anything I want. There's got to be entertainment around here, and I'm great at that, so why not work in it? Or there's politics, I'm plenty used to that. I bet even as a stranger to this place I could get into it.

There's everything from a simple shopkeeper to a model! Come on, Bud, use your head a little.

[Trying so hard to sound peeved and serious (and probably failing a bit.)]

Well, I guess you are pretty entertaining sometimes. I could see something like that.[Okay, now he's just giving Zelos a hard time for the fun of it. Because they're buds like that.]
