It was a bright and sunny normal day in Republic City. Children were playing, spirits were chirping about, and everything was going along like normal. Well at least that's what everyone seemed to think. That is until so many people seemed to be appearing out of nowhere. For some reason Republic City seemed to be more lively and the crowds bigger.

The spirits have grown restless as if something important was about to change, and to try to fix that change, the spirits with their big long tree like limbs dragged people into the world left and right. Even the vines covering Republic City seemed to help. Although the spirits had the best intentions in mind, some people were more affected by the grab than others. There's talk that people in this city don't even know what this place is. People who have never heard of the words "bender" or "non-bender."

Welcome to Republic City! And to those who already live here: Happy Saturday. Please make yourselves at home and don't mind a little spirit gunk. It's mostly harmless. Go enjoy yourself a classic mover. Maybe you're the athletic type. If that's the case, come watch a few Pro-bending matches or form your own team. Just watch out for any Satomobiles. They can be deadly no matter how pretty the driver is.

Please remember to enjoy your stay and don't cause too much trouble. The Republic City Police don't need more riffraff to take care of. And don't stray too far. To make the the peace is kept, there's a huge spirit barrier around the perimeter of the city. It seems pretty strong, but it won't be able to last forever. Still, it's worrying. Radio signals and telegraphs don't seem to be getting past it.

[It's such a terrible joke that it gets a snort out of her.] You must be a riot at parties. [Sweet can kicking skills and puns, what more could anyone ask for?]

[ Yang's puns and jokes usually got an eye roll, so naturally she likes this woman already. ]

That's because I start every party with a "Yang!"-- Because that's my name-- Yang.

Yang, huh? [She looked like a nice enough girl.] Are you one of the new dropees? [AKA: The people who are getting dropped in from who knows where.]

Nah. [ She offers a halfhearted shrug. ] But it doesn't make me any less green. Y'know, fresh off the boat and everything. Though don't worry, I've bathed since.

Heh. It's starting to feel like no one actually lives in this city. Just traveling in and out. [Because she's that way, too, only having freshly arrived from other places. And most everyone else she talked to seems to be the same.]

Who said anything about leaving? I, at least, intend to stick around! [ Yang already feels like the big city is where she belongs. ]

Oh. You like it here? [Nabooru did for certain reasons but other than that it was entirely overwhelming and sweltering.] You seem like a peppy girl, I'm sure you'll go far. [This is actually not facetiously said.]

[ Yang tucks her hands behind her neck, cradling her neck lazily. ] Yeah, I do. I'm from a little island and there's really not a whole log going on there.

[ A girl like herself wasn't one to be cooped up on a small island with nothing to do. She was a thrill seeker and after so long there was very little left to see on her little island to keep Yang entertained. As for the city, it offered more than she ever would have dreamed up.

Though she offers a half-hearted shrug, she can't help but to smile. ]<./small> I guess you could say that, but I don't really want to go far. All I want to do is pro-bend.

Pro-bending? [She'd heard of it now that she'd been in the city. It seemed interesting, for sure.] What kind of bender are you? [It used to be so easy to tell. Usually people wore color coded clothes or something. But even she didn't stick to things like that.]

Yeah, you know, the sport! [ Rather than telling her, she shows her. With her palm out face-up, a small flame appears, flicking for only a few seconds before she closes her first. ]

Another fire child, eh? [That made two. It wasn't like she'd never seen it before but other elements were always something of a treat to be able to witness.] I'm sure you'll do fine.

[ She laughs. ] I sure hope so! The Fire Ferrets have an opening and I'm hoping to get the spot.

Sounds like it was made just for you. [Fire this fire that, she's not really hip with all of it but encouraging girls to chase their dreams never hurt anyone. Without missing a beat she slides a foot out to take a small stance and with a raise of her wrist shifts the earth underneath her little can to send it sailing into the air back towards Yang.] Good hand eye coordination might help- you've picked a fine way to practice. [Can kicking was small business but it did well enough for practice.]

[ Having studied martial arts since she was a toddler and fire bending since her first flame, Yang had a good eye for recognizing when someone was about to throw a punch (or in this case, bend). She had just enough time to take a defensive stance-- fists up and ready to block or throw a punch as needed.

When Yang realized her own can was being earthebended her way, she grinned. ] Nice!

[ As the can neared, she high kicked it with the aid of a little flames. The can caught fire as it soared through the air and Yang lifted her hands in the air as if she scored a goal. ] Now that's my idea of action! Who knew? All this time I'd been kicking that around, I didn't even think to use it for practice!

Anything is target practice if you try hard enough. [And she'd had her fair share of practice in her day.] Now you'll be unstoppable. [Who knew it felt so nice to encourage people to chase their dreams?]

[ Yang laughs. ] I really owe you one then!

[Since she hadn't done it earlier-] Nabooru. I'll let you know next time we run into each other. [She'll probably hit her up for food or something because that's just Nabooru's style.]

Hey, it's really nice meeting you, Nabooru. [ And she means it. Both meeting her and the owing her. She owes two people in the city now and has every interest in keeping her promise. ]

Sure, whatever you want, I'm you're gal.
