It was a bright and sunny normal day in Republic City. Children were playing, spirits were chirping about, and everything was going along like normal. Well at least that's what everyone seemed to think. That is until so many people seemed to be appearing out of nowhere. For some reason Republic City seemed to be more lively and the crowds bigger.

The spirits have grown restless as if something important was about to change, and to try to fix that change, the spirits with their big long tree like limbs dragged people into the world left and right. Even the vines covering Republic City seemed to help. Although the spirits had the best intentions in mind, some people were more affected by the grab than others. There's talk that people in this city don't even know what this place is. People who have never heard of the words "bender" or "non-bender."

Welcome to Republic City! And to those who already live here: Happy Saturday. Please make yourselves at home and don't mind a little spirit gunk. It's mostly harmless. Go enjoy yourself a classic mover. Maybe you're the athletic type. If that's the case, come watch a few Pro-bending matches or form your own team. Just watch out for any Satomobiles. They can be deadly no matter how pretty the driver is.

Please remember to enjoy your stay and don't cause too much trouble. The Republic City Police don't need more riffraff to take care of. And don't stray too far. To make the the peace is kept, there's a huge spirit barrier around the perimeter of the city. It seems pretty strong, but it won't be able to last forever. Still, it's worrying. Radio signals and telegraphs don't seem to be getting past it.

Yeah, exactly then. But then again, I don't exactly know how living there is; I've just been there as a guest and all.

[It seems that the ferry is beginning to near Air Temple Island. Bolin grabs the rope on the side of the boat in order to help dock it on the other side.]

Accent over the e and everything. You's so fancy.

[The ferry bumps gently into the dock as Opal lets the wind die back while Bolin secures it to the dock. She begins picking her bags back up, amusement to her tone.]

You learn to ignore it. When most of your family lives around metal almost constantly, you get used to the glare.

Oh I can imagine. About the only thing I'm used to is Mako's snoring. Well, and all of the random wake-ups in the early morning when a fight broke down in the middle of the street.

[Bolin finishes securing the ferry to the dock and then helps Opal out of the boat before getting out himself.]

Well, we're here. Do you need help with your bags, Opal?

[OOC: This seems like a good point to wrap this up to me, yes? He can help her in with those bags and then she'll ferry him back if someone else isn't going around then.]

Nice to meet you, Bolin the earthbender! Guess you fit in even better with all those Beifongs!

Me too. [ Jinora agrees, looking around her once again. ] I really want the spirits and people to get along. I know it might take some time, but... [ She sighs, before looking back at him. ]

I try to visit as much as I can. I've had spirit friends as long as I can remember... but it's so nice being able to see so many of them. [ And then she remembers her manners. ] My name's Jinora.

That's right! We are. [ Although she looks a little surprised to hear Opal say it at first, she puts on a serious face as she answers. Well, serious until the smile seeps through again- it's hard not to be happy about her new airbending "family," after all.

But of course what was family for but to tease you? She laughs. ]

Right, your favorite author who writes love poems.

Yeah, I guess I really do.

Though I can't really metalbend though. I always have been a little jealous of that. Well, until recently at least.

I just moved in here not long ago. But I've been friends with spirits since I left the city I grew up in. That was about eight years ago, now.

[Give or take a ten thousand year time skip.]

There weren't any in that city, but once I got outside and into the wilds beyond, they were everywhere. It's really great that they're able to live alongside other humans, now.

Ooh! Did you find out how to?

Naw. I actually tried to learn while meeting all of Toph's family, but... I can't metalbend to safe my life! [Quite literally!]

But I did learn how to lavabend!

L-lavabend?! [Aang makes an impressed gasp.] ...People can lavabend?!

[He thinks he saw a vision of a previous Avatar doing that once, but it was kind of unclear.]

[Yup, Bolin can keep secrets real good...]

Sure can! I didn't realize I could do it until this bad guy who could also lavabend tried to bury us in a volcano. We were escaping through this cave, but the lava eventually came down the passageway, threatening to burn us alive! And I went up to it, held up my hands, and then... hissssssss! I was able to turn it all back to solid rock!

Wow! I never even imagined that was possible! [If Roku knew that, maybe he would have been able to live longer...]

That's really neat, Bolin! Are you a... some kind of a professional volcano fighter now?

[Please don't actually become one, Bolin, for your own safety.]

I... don't... really... want to be a professional volcano fighter? I mean, that sounds kind of dangerous. Even more dangerous than hanging out with Team Avataaaaaaaiiiiiii mean, well, all the people who've wanted to do bad things to Korra.

But you'd probably save a lot of lives that way! I think. ...Are there lots of volcano problems these days?

Not... really? At least not any that I've been in... that weren't also the result of someone causing the volcano to erupt?

Oh, okay. So... maybe you'll be fine sticking with what you're doing, I guess!

You're probably right about that one. After all, being a mover star and a pro-bender are likely going to keep me busy enough as is!

Um... What's a mover star? ...And a probender?

[lavamylife]

Oh yeeeeeah, you wouldn't know about all of that since you're... well, from the past. Even though you might have been around for the start of pro-bending by the time you died, but you being your earlier self certainly wouldn't know about it. [Cute Bolin. You just met the prior Avatar, and you've already mentioned that they die at some point. Spoiler alert.]

Anyway, pro-bending is this great amazing contest between teams of earthbenders, waterbenders, and firebenders. It's like a sport where you have to knock the other team back into this pool of water to show off your bending superiority! It's really fun; you should try it one day!

And movers are these really great moving pictures that tell stories! And I got to be the main character of one of them. The Adventures of Nuktuk: Hero of the South!

[Aang knows all too well about that 'spoiler'. It's hard to be around this place for more than a few minutes without seeing a sign that he's gone. A new Avatar running around. He does frown a little at the mention of his death, but then he listens attentively to what Bolin says.]

Probending sounds like a pretty neat sport! I think I prefer games that have less superiority... but maybe I'll try someday!

Moving... pictures. [He repeats to himself to try to visualize it. It's not easy, however.] Nuktuk... Never heard of that guy! Is that South like Southern Water Tribe?

It's really fun! My team—well Mako's team—won the championship two years ago, and I'm hoping to repeat that feat with my own team this year. You should come check out a match. The city is really into it!

And yeah, the Southern Water Tribe! Can you believe they made me out to be a waterbender with all those special effects? [He laughs about it, knowing full well just how silly they looked in real life, but the camera captured them really well.] It was all part of trying to convince President Raiko to help liberate the Southern Water Tribe from the Northern Water Tribe's invasion!
