It was a bright and sunny normal day in Republic City. Children were playing, spirits were chirping about, and everything was going along like normal. Well at least that's what everyone seemed to think. That is until so many people seemed to be appearing out of nowhere. For some reason Republic City seemed to be more lively and the crowds bigger.

The spirits have grown restless as if something important was about to change, and to try to fix that change, the spirits with their big long tree like limbs dragged people into the world left and right. Even the vines covering Republic City seemed to help. Although the spirits had the best intentions in mind, some people were more affected by the grab than others. There's talk that people in this city don't even know what this place is. People who have never heard of the words "bender" or "non-bender."

Welcome to Republic City! And to those who already live here: Happy Saturday. Please make yourselves at home and don't mind a little spirit gunk. It's mostly harmless. Go enjoy yourself a classic mover. Maybe you're the athletic type. If that's the case, come watch a few Pro-bending matches or form your own team. Just watch out for any Satomobiles. They can be deadly no matter how pretty the driver is.

Please remember to enjoy your stay and don't cause too much trouble. The Republic City Police don't need more riffraff to take care of. And don't stray too far. To make the the peace is kept, there's a huge spirit barrier around the perimeter of the city. It seems pretty strong, but it won't be able to last forever. Still, it's worrying. Radio signals and telegraphs don't seem to be getting past it.

"Quite a few. I'm sure at least half of this line is people who already lived here and could use a hand, but the newcomers are what brought this on." She's still multitasking, folding and zipping and closing while she speaks.

"Between you guys and this barrier business, I figured this kind of impromptu operation was better than nothing."

"I'm actually not a day older than when we celebrated the end of the war at the Jasmine Dragon. Then something happened. Something... spirity."

He gives a thoughtful pause. "Are you sure you're Zuko?"

"I've heard them, but I haven't seen it for myself yet. That was on the schedule for later."

He figured he'd park himself in whatever spot looked promising and wait to see who showed up, lost and bewildered and hopefully worth expending a little effort on. There was a lot to do in Republic City, though, and he'd gotten hungry fairly quickly.

"Have you heard anything more?"

Lau heard most everything, so if there was something worth knowing, hopefully he knew it already.

[All the hugs Aang wished he could have given to Gyatso and the rest of his people, were channeled into the warmth and heartfelt power behind Aang's hug. He sniffed lightly as they pulled back, quickly raising an arm to wipe at his eyes with his sleeve.

The whole time, he's smiling so fondly.]

Jinora. [He repeats the name softly. It's likely a name that's been heard before amongst the air nomads; that familiarity cements the legacy she's inherited.] That's a beautiful name. And I'm so... so, so glad that I get to meet you.

[ This place just seems to keep getting bigger and bigger. ]

Hey Aang, how do you think they made the buildings so... big?

Asami responded with a small smile.

"Well, I can at least pay you for your time, if you do help us out. We've got a few assembly lines going, so you can jump in with one of those. Every bag gets a map, a blanket, a water canteen, and some jerky. It's pretty straightforward." Her shoulders heaved slightly as she sighed.

"I don't think anyone knows just how bad things are, yet. But if that barrier stays where it is for too long..."

Slade shakes his head.

"I have a reputation to keep, Lau. I only provide the highest level of service when I accept a job. If I accept this one, it will be impossible to deliver that to both you and my other client. I must decline, this time.

Now, tell me about the journalist."

I don't know. This whole place is a mystery. Maybe they use some kind of a... growing potion?

"Hm?" Asami looks up from her spot in the assembly line to regard Albert. She vaguely recognizes her as a shipping driver, but little more. Too many faces day in and day out.

Then there's the truck behind him. Yeah, she can put two and two together, but she'll wait to hear him out.

What the hell is that even supposed to be?

[Yep, Varrick is straight up taking your money off you now, kid, and peering at it.]

That doesn't look anything remotely like the currency around here! Do your research next time, kid.

Good side? Iiii think I'd like to know a little more about this good side. But... you sound so honest, I wanna believe you. [Aang's always about seeing the best in people. But when he remembers Azula, he remembers the crackle of electricity, the flash of energy, all the lights going out...

It's hard to imagine her good side.]

Hm, you're right. This sounds more like a grumpy person name. But at least it's nice?

[ She makes a weird squeaky noise from the hair ruffling and sticks her tongue out while handing him another bucket. ]

It says bossing strangers around is okay if the stranger is being a lazybutt.

A growing potion huh... well that would explain why there are giant trees and vines everywhere.

Yeah... It's all coming together! Finally things are making sense! [Then a car whizzes by.]

Thanks. [He nods with his own smile as he starts to step back.] What's your name, by the way?

Zan shakes his head.

"BAH! You say it so passively! Things haven't just 'been on the rise', girl, you've turned things around! Take credit for your accomplishments!"

"So this is where the opportunities are." He gives a solid nod as he tries to figure everything out. "This really does seem like a place with a lot of opportunity... and sweets!"

"Sweets are often the best opportunities." Not really, but he seemed young and she wasn't quite at the level of corrupting children yet. "Are your parents around anywhere?" She couldn't imagine one so young off in the city by himself, but stranger things had happened.

[So they're on the same page! Good. He laughs a bit at the shoulder bump, wobbling a bit playfully as he waves a hand in some vague gestures.]

Oh, you know. The usual. This, and that... Here and there. [He's mostly messing around.] The Church has been a mess lately, so I've been having to run around and clean everything up. It's a total hassle.

If by goodies, you mean a healthy balanced meal. [ She gave her a sister a look that told her she wasn't going to get away with eating sweets day after day. ]

Don't worry about it, dad's given us enough for food and I promise I'll land a job before you know it!

I still don't get those things either. How are they even moving?
