It was a bright and sunny normal day in Republic City. Children were playing, spirits were chirping about, and everything was going along like normal. Well at least that's what everyone seemed to think. That is until so many people seemed to be appearing out of nowhere. For some reason Republic City seemed to be more lively and the crowds bigger.

The spirits have grown restless as if something important was about to change, and to try to fix that change, the spirits with their big long tree like limbs dragged people into the world left and right. Even the vines covering Republic City seemed to help. Although the spirits had the best intentions in mind, some people were more affected by the grab than others. There's talk that people in this city don't even know what this place is. People who have never heard of the words "bender" or "non-bender."

Welcome to Republic City! And to those who already live here: Happy Saturday. Please make yourselves at home and don't mind a little spirit gunk. It's mostly harmless. Go enjoy yourself a classic mover. Maybe you're the athletic type. If that's the case, come watch a few Pro-bending matches or form your own team. Just watch out for any Satomobiles. They can be deadly no matter how pretty the driver is.

Please remember to enjoy your stay and don't cause too much trouble. The Republic City Police don't need more riffraff to take care of. And don't stray too far. To make the the peace is kept, there's a huge spirit barrier around the perimeter of the city. It seems pretty strong, but it won't be able to last forever. Still, it's worrying. Radio signals and telegraphs don't seem to be getting past it.

It must be very serious if they needed to talk in private. She really hoped the others were okay, but rather than voicing her continued concerns she swallowed them down. Forcing a smile, she nodded to Zuko. "Of course! Just lead the way!"

It does sound that way, huh? Duo isn't really a common name either!

Oh, yes! [ She loves talking about Azula, in some way it's like flaunting that she knows someone rich and powerful... That and she was her friend, so even if he didn't know who she was talking about her was still enjoyable. ] She's the youngest, her brother's name is Zuko. Of course, since he's the oldest that means he's next in line for the throne, but he was banished for the kingdom. He's back now but Azula still wants to be the next Fire Lord.

Okay, maybe we can find something really fun to do together! You just lead the way!

[backbends]

"As you should," she giggles. "She doesn't go easy on guards that don't listen to her. So, what brings you all the way out here." A pause, as she realizes she's still not entirely sure where they are. "Wherever here is, anyway. Did the vines bring you too?"

It was only the natural assumption considering his earlier outburst. That and the whole guard get-up wasn't something you'd see on anyone outside of duty.

[ Aang might be the first person she confuses, but he surely won't be the last. It'll prove for a very interesting day, that's for sure. ]

Ohh, I'd love that! If you don't mind, of course.

Though Yang wouldn't have chastised him for it (maybe just laughed a little at most), it really was best he didn't just out and announce he was Fire Lord. Especially when you considered that the current Fire Lord was a woman. She wasn't going to pressure the situation either, but if he wanted to ask her questions she wasn't going to keep him in the dark on anything.

"Well, I guess that depends on who you ask." She turned to look out at the city, it was big and had so much to offer to so many people. "The best part about it? It was founded on the idea that anyone from any nation could live together in harmony." She doesn't bother to point out that the very guy he was dressed as was one of it's founders. "Anyone can move from any nation and start a new life and follow their dreams. There's jobs for about anyone here too."

Not that she cared for just any job, Yang dreamed of joining a Pro-Bending team herself. "My sister and myself came here because she's a brand new Airbender. The Fire Nation is no place for someone just learning airbending. If it wasn't for Republic City, I'm not really sure what we'd do."

[yangarang]

[ She laughs. ] I sure hope so! The Fire Ferrets have an opening and I'm hoping to get the spot.

She laughs and returns his hug, though she tips her head in confusion at his greeting.

"You knew we were coming here?" she asks, eyes still bright as she looks him over. Something is a little off, but he's definitely her Sokka. She does make a face when he tells her to blame Zuko, though, and laughs it off. "Why would I blame the fire lord? And what are you rescuing me from?"

It's then that she notices his fire nation guard uniform, and she blinks, a somewhat shocked expression replacing her lighthearted confusion.

Suki's expression levels and she sighs when he stays just as loud. Shaking her head at his attempt at correcting his surprise, she tugs him with her for a few paces before she lets him go, hoping he'll simply follow.

"Just... prepare yourself," she adds a little more gently, before leading him through the streets.

Not long after, she would pause down the street from a large golden statue of a firebender, live flames dancing in his hand and an unmistakable scar across one side of his face. She stays next to him, watching warily. "Impressive... right?" She gives a half shrug, laughing a little awkwardly.

[dustonmyfeet]

Toph made a face in turn (though unaware that he'd beaten her to it). "Thanks for the attempt at buzzkill, Captain Stick-in-the-Mud, but I'm going with it anyway."

Besides, not her problem if Aang had a statue. She certainly didn't begrudge him that; she'd never been bothered by the success of her friends. But the fact that she had one, and all the implications . . . yeah. She was going to enjoy that, and Zuko was just going to have to deal with the ego he'd dredged up.

Considering for a moment, she pushed the mask back towards him. "Hold this."

(He might notice that somewhere along the line, it had gained a pair of roughly-sculpted smoochy lips where his mouth would end up.)

For her turn, Toph reached up and tugged the pins out of her bun. Her hair was massively thick; it came down in an unruly black mass that seemed to have a mind of its own. She worked with her fingers, obviously practiced enough with it, braiding it back again with the pins poking out from her teeth.

"If that guy's still out, let's see what he's got."

[And she'll accept the hand gratefully.]

Alright then. It was very nice to meet you!

"Wait, just one time? But then... what about the time Katara and Sokka got stuck... in... it...?"

His eyes slowly widen as a possibility starts to unfold.

"Yoooouuuuu wouldn't happen to be related to any Avatars, would you?"

Watching Aang catch up was like watching a house catch on fire; slowly at first and then all at once. All the while Bumi's grin merely widens.

"Only on my father's side," he says as matter of factly as he can manage. Then he looks up and to the right. "Well, I guess in a way I'm also related to Korra. Water Tribe being one big family, after all..."

Sounds like it was made just for you. [Fire this fire that, she's not really hip with all of it but encouraging girls to chase their dreams never hurt anyone. Without missing a beat she slides a foot out to take a small stance and with a raise of her wrist shifts the earth underneath her little can to send it sailing into the air back towards Yang.] Good hand eye coordination might help- you've picked a fine way to practice. [Can kicking was small business but it did well enough for practice.]

[Opal has the good grace to give him a quick blush at the wink. Now that he's off and running and here she is being all but tugged along with him, it's her turn to be briefly and momentarily awkward. She settles into the new feeling in the next moment though and offers a big smile.]

I have but evidently it's not the only impressive sight.

[Not by half. Sokka and Zuko's statues are just as impressive once they get to see them, particularly the fire settled in the palm of Zuko's hand. The stories that accompany each one because c'mon we're not getting out of this without a personal story with each one right? are pretty good too, at least in Opal's opinion.

The arena up close really is every bit as impressive as Bolin said it would be. Here Opal expresses a wish to see it some time at night while it's all lit up. It reminds her of some of the buildings in Zaofu, though with a distinctive style that really is indicative of Republic City.

It's a bit of a whirlwind until the pause for that lunch. Opal admits only a little sheepishly that she really does need lunch by that point. And once she's settled down at a table and her seaweed noodles are more than half gone, she is all giddy cheerfulness.]

I've never really had a lot of Water Tribe dishes but these noodles really are good. I can see why they advertise them so much!

"There's a ferry that tends to wait here when air acolytes are in the City itself actually. It should still be there or it should come back soon if it isn't."

That said, their trek to the dock finds the ferry waiting, drifting calmly on the water. Opal gives Lloyd a big smile.

"See, there it is. I think it might just be me and you this time though."

Yeah, it was a pretty big shock. We tried to help her, but both me and dad are firebenders. We don't know the first thing there is to know about airbending.

[ Yang doesn't show it on her face, but she's impressed. ] Wow, really? So you're a bender, a big shot mover star and you know Tenzin and you're dating an airbender. You sound like a busy guy!

[ She laughs. ] My sister is actually out looking for the other airbenders now, but... She's not the best with directions. Or people.

I need work, at least until I find out if I make the Fire Ferrets. [ Try outs weren't for a few days. ] I live pretty close, so I was hoping to find a place close to home.

"I hope," Asami said, casting a glance at the growing crowd.

"What worries me the most is the growing population and the limited supplies we're going to have with this giant bubble encasing the city."

ffff I missed a notif, sorry!

You'll get used to it.

[Asami says that with a reassuring smile. She glances around the area with a small shrug.]

Just on telephone poles, public places. Wherever you think is good. Meet me back here in an hour, I'll see how you did, and I can pay you then.

I didn't realize they were recruiting.

[She really didn't. Blake's knowledge of the pro-bending scene is obviously severely lacking. She sighs.]

Well, let me know if your luck ends up being any better than mine.

[backbends]

Wow, I can't wait to see! [ She takes his arm. ] Okay, lead the way!

[ Okay, now he wasn't so much of an old man. She hadn't a clue half the things he was talking about but she was definitely impressed. ]

[backbends]

"Yeah you," she giggles. "So, what do you do as the police? Do you think you could show me around?" She bats her eyelashes, playing the "new here" card. Really, who would be better to show her around than a stud like Mako?

"It's common sense. Don't destroy their homes, don't agitate them. Most of them are more sentient than animals, so keep that in mind." As long as you had half a brain, Asami didn't think you'd have a problem.

"I met Aang, too," Asami admits, now that she knows Bolin has already seen him.

"So I don't think Wan is completely out of the question, either." In contrast to Bolin as usual, she maintains composure and an uncertain sort of grimace at the revelation.
