[OPEN] November Catch All

Same scenarios as the test drive plus a few!

A. Just got here!

Dove was amazed when she finally arrived in Republic City, her eyes bright and sparkling with excitement as she explored its streets. It held just as much history as her own home, and, for her, ten times the wonder and opportunity. At her side, a large tigerdillo padded along with her, its head low and its own eyes calm as it, too, took in the foreign sights with her owner.

There were so many people, from so many places, and for a moment, she was overwhelmed with the pure joy that came with it. Sure, she very obviously looked like a tourist, but so what? She'd soon call Republic City home... if she could find a decent place to stay.

Until then, she would meet and get to know as many people as she could, just like the extrovert she was.

It might be unfortunate for her to cross the street and NOT see that car coming...
Maybe she's just really, really curious about that statue.

B. Spirit Wilds

Rumor of Spirit habitation in the city immediately caught Dove's attention, and with no hesitation at all, the girl set off to investigate. She would quickly find herself directed toward the spirit wilds, and others would soon find her curiously exploring what she could. Most of the spirits she finds, however, seem wary of her.

Her reaction to one alighting on her arm is sure to be an experience.

C. SHOPPING OMG

...Dove new how to shop, and there was little way for her to escape the pull of Little Ba Sing Sei. One could easily spot her moving slowly from store to store, trying on the latest fashions--she was very used to high end clothing-- and pouring over each piece and new style she could find. At the end of the day, one might find her with a good sized cup of tea, recovering from her adventure at leisure, Maomi curled around her seat as she sits outside a tea shop.

D. Firebending

Dove's fitness routine was very, very important. One might find her out and about just as the sun begins to set, working through her firebending techniques. Unfortunately, as she's new to the city, she has yet to find a very good place to practice... Maybe you could help her out?

She'd also totally be down for a quick sparring session.

Second? That almost didn’t sound good.

"You were firebending in a populated area?" That was all he could think of that could qualify for something like that, she didn’t seem like the type that would maliciously firebend publicly. And he doubted a detective would have let her off with just a reprimand if that was the case.

He was thinking about that too hard.

"I mean, you didn’t hurt anyone. Right?"

Captain Suave strikes again.
streetferret: I'll just smile and hurt while you do. (Rub fireflakes into the wound.)

"Sure, there's plenty of places where it's okay." Of course he was in a better disposition to say that now that he had seen she had better control than what his mind pieced together after hearing the incident with the other detective.

"Aside from some of the bending academies, there's public places too. Free ones. We usually have patrols in the area just in case some firebending goes a little too wild. Here, let me write them down for you."

He put his wallet back and fetched a small black book and pen. His log book wouldn't mind a missing page if it helped out a citizen.

"Well, we do our best to protect and serve." No, he wasn’t trying to sound like hot stuff, but with how the police are operating without a police chief and him helping to organize the departments; well it felt like a direct compliment.

"But yeah, I am." He ripped the page out of his book and held out to her between his fingers. "I’m Mako."

He left out the pro-bending part, he never really bragged about that part. Or anything much if he could help it.
streetferret: (I'll be back in another Book.)

"Yeah, that’s me. Nice to meet you."

And now he couldn’t help but wonder if she met Bolin, or his brother’s fame had him pegged as ‘Mako, brother of mover star Bolin.’

"And that’s good to hear. The Fire Ferrets had a good run last year." He couldn’t help but ask with a bit of humor. "Did your brother have any interest in being a pro-bender? I know my brother’s looking for benders to come try out."

Whoops. And here he thought she was the one who was actually caught up in the sport. He coughed and rubbed the back of his neck. Smooth one, Mako.

"Yeah. Me too. I mean, of course; it is my team after all." But it wasn't anymore. From smooth talker to total disaster in less than one minute. "If you ever want to watch a match I'm pretty sure my brother could get you a good seat." Wow. Bolin, so popular. He'd get used to all of this eventually.

"Don’t even worry about it, I’ll tell Bo to give you the rundown. It’s pretty easy once you see a game in action." He gave the smallest of shrugs and smiles. "He’d be all over the idea."

Mako tapped his book with his finger. "I gotta get on this book, but it was nice to meet you." Wave? No, that seemed stupid even his head. He wasn’t even ten feet from her.

Handshake. That he could do. He extended his hand a full awkward few moments of silence later.
