Option A. Spirit Wilds (OPEN)

With the press catching on that she was "recovered" and around again, it was only a matter of time before they started trying to hound her for more information. And only a matter of time before Korra realized the Spirit Wilds were a perfect place for her to get some peace and quiet from them. The people in the city were still wary of the vines and tended to stay away. The spirits were a different matter, of course. The vines were their home, and Korra occasionally saw them watching her curiously as she passed.

There was one that was particularly persistent. She swore she saw those leafy ears disappearing behind some vines at least four times in the past half hour. What the heck was it doing?

When Korra heard some rustling behind her only a few minutes later, she stopped and said, "If you're going to follow me, you could at least quit it with the hiding act."

Except it wasn't the spirit at all when she turned around. "Oh, sorry! I thought you were...someone else."

Option B. Around Air Temple Island (OPEN)

Though Korra had trained all her life, there were still new things to be learned about bending all the time. After seeing a few air new air benders practicing the day before, Korra had the bright idea to do the same, with one of the more...interesting training moves. The tip of her tongue stuck out as she concentrated on balancing with one foot on the narrow pole, her hand raised and keeping a leaf dancing above her palm with a gentle air spiral. She stayed aloft for a few minutes, thinking how it wasn't as bad as she thought it might be...

Of course, her balance only lasted until a lemur, without a certain young air bender to latch onto, leapt onto her head and sent her tumbling to the ground with a yelp.

"Pokey, get back here! Ugh." Korra watched him fly off with a scowl as she rubbed at her head. Hopefully, no one had been around to see that...

Option C. Closed to Lord Zuko

Lord Zuko's presence in the city was a great relief to Korra, especially with Raiko, Lin, and Tenzin all missing. Now that a few weeks had passed, with still no news or developments, she thought it was high time she and Lord Zuko had another talk.

Following his directions to his home in Republic City, she loitered outside the door, twisting the material of her shirt between her fingers. This is stupid, she thought after a few minutes. Breathing in, she forced herself to raise her hand and knock on the door firmly.

When Korra turned around she would see someone in a cloak and a mask. A pair of golden eyes blinked behind it.

"Who are you?"

He hadn't seen her around here before.

Nope, not a spirit, just a young man seated upon one of the larger vines with a fancy spear set across his shoulders (he figured the police wouldn't get onto him as much if he carried the thing around the Wilds instead of the city). The brunet grinned down at her, one leg swinging absently beneath the vine.

"You're not wrong, though. I was following you."

Aang saw. And laughed. He quickly scampered to her side and offered her a hand.

"Hey Korra! Are you okay?" His concern is punctuated by a snort.

B)

This one's hanging out over at the island, having gone there every day to train her new found skill. She was still a little awkward, but she liked to think she was getting halfway decent. Because of this? She just looks at this lady's performance with no judging whatsoever!

"Hey, great airbending!"

Mula offered a loud 'mrrow' with her ears perked forward as she watched Korra. The catdeer had caught her scent and had decided to follow. Again.

"I didn't realize I was hiding," Asami said with a soft laugh as she carefully stepped over a cluster of vines. It wasn't often that Asami ventured into the Wilds, but she was a little bit curious, and she couldn't help but agree with Korra's sentiments. There was barely any peace and quiet, these days.

Shareholders and secretaries didn't often venture here, though.

Oh, this was going to be awkward. Korra debated for a second, then shrugged internally. It wasn't like her appearance was a secret--he'd probably find out sooner or later.

"I'm Korra," she replied, trying not to cross her arms and look too defensive. "What about you?"

[braavado]

Korra felt a frown working its way onto her face. Had she really been so distracted by the spirit that she didn't even sense someone else?

But never mind. She could beat herself up about being careless later. First, she had to find out what this guy wanted. "You were? Why?"

[braavado]

Falling off was no big deal. Being seen by Aang, of all people, while she failed in air bending definitely was a big deal. Worst training session ever.

Korra dusted herself off and took his hand. "I'm fine. My ego's just a little bruised, that's all," she said with a sigh. "Were you watching the whole time?"

[braavado]

Korra pushed herself off the ground, rubbing at her neck sheepishly. "Thanks...I think? Could have gone a lot better if someone hadn't messed me up," she said with a pointed look toward the sky, where the lemur had last been seen. "Uh, so...what are you doing here?"

She didn't recognize the girl, but if she was around the Air Temple, then maybe she was either a new air bender or one of the displaced citizens.

Korra immediately dropped the frown and approached the catdeer, suddenly feeling more cheerful.

"Oh...it's you! I was wondering where you went off to," Korra said, giving Mula a good scratch behind the ears. "Have you been living here this whole time?"

It would make sense, in a way. It was probably familiar with the Wilds and the spirits who made this area their home.

"Not you," Korra said, rubbing sheepishly at her neck. "There was a spirit following me around, but it's probably gone off somewhere again."

She easily made her way over the vines to join her friend. "So what are you doing here?"

Though Asami's company had suffered because of Hiroshi's ties to the Equalists, it looked like it was doing much better nowadays. Korra would have expected her friend would be busy with her work, not here, wandering the Spirit Wilds.

"You're the Avatar, right?" She was all over the news, after all, so of course he'd recognize her. "I wanted to meet you."

He pulled her up with as much strength as the vegetarian could muster. "Egos are silly like that. Like... bananas? I don't know if I saw the whole thing, but when I started watching you were doing really good with a leaf."

"I figured," she said with a bit of a laugh. Not so much the spirit part, but the following part. As to what she was doing here...

"I'm... on break. Extended break." There was a bit of a guilty look on Asami's face, then. "All those papers to sign can wait until tonight, and I've never really taken a good look at the wilds." Being a CEO can be just as bland as she had always worried.

"Lee," he says back.

Korra... That name seemed familiar. He felt like he should know who she is. There has been a lot to take in though since coming here and living out here in the wilds. Plus he was laying low so that he wouldn't be found out.

"Do you live here?"

[streetferret]

"Sorry, still not Chief of Police." Mako was out of uniform and had a small cardboard box he had been keeping away from tiny spirits that have tried to group together to carry it off.

He took his arm out of a window that was mostly filled with a huge vine and brushed off his sleeve. Korra wasn't who he was expecting to run into today. "What are you doing way out here?"

[raavashing]

Mula leaned heavily into Korra's chest, purring loudly as the sound of a male voice came from behind her in the distance, "-ula!"

[sanguine]

She seems genuine enough! Any airbender was the coolest person in the world to her, especially since she had something in common with them! How cool. And by the looks of this lady here, she had to not be from here, too!

Right?

"Oh, I'm just one of the new airbenders who immigrated to Republic City because I was randomly bestowed with these really cool bending abilities!"

[crowover]

Mikazuki laughed and waved the apology away.

"It's okay! Hopefully I'm way more fun than whoever you thought it was."

A crow-hawk spirit was perched on his head. It bid Korra hello with a polite coo.

It isn't Lord Zuko who answers the door, but rather, one of the metalbending police assigned to guard him. The guard gives her a brief look over, and, deciding she's unmistakably the Avatar, opens the door to admit her.

Zuko is inside, seated cross legged at a low table and drinking tea, when the metalbender ushers her in. Of course, the former Fire Lord doesn't turn her away, instead rising to greet the Avatar with a bow. "It's good to see you again, Korra. To what do I owe this visit?"

"Who did you think I was?"

Jinora laughs, although she looks a little sheepish.

"I'm sorry, I wasn't trying to follow you."

[braavado]

Or maybe not at awkward as she had thought. Korra was a little suspicious—did he really not recognize her?—but she wasn’t going to complain if he genuinely didn’t.

“Nah, I’m just having a look around. The spirits live around here, and I thought…I could see if there were any clues about that barrier here,” she said. In addition to just escaping from the public at large for a while, of course. “What about you?”

[braavado]

Ah, busted. Korra rubbed at her neck sheepishly before nodding. “Yeah, that’s me.”

She gave him another look, this one much more curious than the one before. “So…why did you want to meet me?”

[braavado]

Korra helped him out a little by pushing herself off the ground with her free hand. She was way taller than Aang was, anyway.

“You really think so?” She asked, trying not to look to eager to hear Aang’s thought on her air bending.
