[Open: Yangchen Festival]

[Today's the day of the Yangchen Festival! It's an airbender ceremony held on Air Temple Island, but the people of Republic City are likely to know of it and are welcome to join in as well. Aang is eager to invite any of his friends he's seen around as well- it's a ceremony he's missed dearly, even if he doesn't know the full story behind it. At the same time, Aang is trying to keep his true identity on the down-low.

The ceremony itself can be described on these pages. Essentially it involves everyone getting together as one group, bowing together to a large statue and then taking a walk while playing a number of musical instruments used by the air nomads. (There may or may not be a matching statue on Air Temple Island how about playing that part vague)

Finally, there's the more festival-y part. They settle in an open area of Air Temple Island. There, everyone gets to eat traditional air nomad meals (read: vegetarian food), and there's kites to fly! There's stringless kites for the airbenders, but the air acolytes have ensured that there's enough stringed kites for everyone. They'll be celebrating there all through the afternoon. So come on over and enjoy!]

[Wan's frown deepened at the request. But then an idea came to him and he smiled sweetly, innocently. smugly He was clearly planning something.]

Alright. You get the Air Nation to help feed those that need it and I promise I won't steal from street vendors anymore.

[Mako gives Korra an impressed look. He didn't even think of a compromise, just taking Wan in and telling him just how everything works in the city.

But smile on Wan's face makes him narrow his eyes, trying to find what's in-between those words.]

Don't break the law and there's nothing to worry about. The city's got enough trouble without a stealing Avatar.

[Unlike Mako, Korra doesn't seem to sense anything wrong with Wan's reply, and just beams at him.]

Great! See, that wasn't too bad, right?

[She looks between the two of them, hoping the compromise will diffuse the tension a bit.]

Let's get the food to these people first, and then we can worry about working out the details.

[Mako gives a smile that's nothing more than a flat line across his mouth, but he nods and adjusts his crossed arms to be a little less tight.]

Future Industries is giving out donation packages to those who need it. Start there, Asami's been working hard on it and could use the help.

[For Wan, Mako just sees this is a way to make to make the older Avatar do some community service instead of a little jail time.]

[raavashing]

[Wan snorted disersively and looked away.]

I've already been there and taken what I could. And anyway, she doesn't want those to go the the poor and homeless who are already in the city, just the new people that have been showing up. She said so herself.

[He shuffled around so he could stand on one side of Korra and put her between himself and Mako.]

I'm going to just fly across the bay to take this to those that need it. I'll be back for more.

[And with that, he started to walk out.]

[Korra’s cheerful expression wilts a little in the face of their continued bickering. Asami said that? She wonders if Wan had just misunderstood or something. Korra shakes her head, giving Mako a pleading look.]

Wait, I’ll go with you! [But before she follows after Wan, she turns back to Mako.] I’ll just—I won’t be gone too long.

[He's already agreed to everything, and Mako's hard pressed to further his case since the airbenders were giving it away freely. He puts his hands in his pockets, jacket by his hips pushed to the sides of his wrists.]

Yeah. Keep him out of trouble.

This is a pissing contest they will have to have at another time.

[Wan's disposition visibly brightened at Korra's offer to come with him and he gave her a bright smile before shooting quick glare over her shoulder at Mako and his unwelcome commentary. But the smile was back as he headed out and started babbling happily about all the people he'd met in the city so far - mostly homeless, but great people.]
