A loud sigh escaped him and shuffled over to her. He sat down on one of the vines, shoulders slumped and hands between his knees as he leaned back and looked up at the canopy of trees and vines that blocked out the night sky almost entirely.

"I haven't lived this close to humans for close to eight years," he said softly. "Most of that time I've spent traveling the world, visiting what cities there were for a couple days here and a couple there before moving on again. Before that, I lived on the fringes of the city I was born in. I had two friends I was close to and everyone else were just other humans that lived similar lives. I do want to be around other humans. I want to be with them and I want to see them thrive and I want them to know the same happiness I have known in living in nature and alongside the spirits of the world."

Wan gestured vaguely toward the distance, "This world as it has become... it's everything I've been dreaming of and more. Different groups of humans living together in peace. The spirits able to return to the world and live with them. I am... I'm overwhelmed by it all..."
