"I don't know how you could say that," Weiss frowned. "Of course bending defines a person! It's something we're born with, and we practice it everyday to get stronger and hone our skills! Waterbending is a big part of my life!"

Maybe the only part of her life, she worried, that mattered. After all, Weiss' bending abilities were her own, not her father's. She taught herself how to make and use ice as her main technique.
