Air Temple Island:

A. Aang starts off his morning with airbending training. Some meditation, some rounds through the air gates, some general practice of forms and some balancing upon pillars. He'll be glad to tutor anyone else in need of instruction. He is a master, after all, even if he's claiming not to be Avatar Aang. Just a random prodigy airbender who happens to be named Aang! At least, that's the cover story he's trying this week.

B. This young monk has commandeered the kitchen! His goal? To make some fruit pies! Feel free to stumble across him while he's in the act of baking them, while some doting air acolytes try to help out.

Republic City/Spirit Worlds

C. And so Aang makes his way through the city atop his sky bison, Appa, who has a large batch of the fruit pies kept on his back. Aang may stop to check in on any number of his friends if they're around, with personalized fruit pies for new friends and old.

D. Aang will also spend time down exploring the Spirit Wilds. He'll use the rest of his batch of fruit pies here, distributing them to those who need it. He'll also try to investigate the spirit vines and wandering spirits some more, puzzled about all of the odd things he's heard about so far.

E. Finally, he can be found near the barrier, meditating in an attempt to commune with the spirits. He better be careful with all those stray spirits wandering about...

[Aang chuckles, his ego huffed up for the moment.]

Yeah. The Unagi. I guess I do, um, get around a lot. You know, I could tell you a story about the Unagi and firebenders at the same time!

Yeah, it's kind of my specialty-- Trust me, you don't want to know. [ Though it probably had something to do with trying to use her bending to boil water... but that's entirely beside the point. ]

In that case, you should definitely try it out! Neither of us really good at cooking. [ She laughs. ] The majority of our meals are takeout.

Do it! I wanna hear that one!

[He clambers back up on the vine he was sitting on and parks himself there for the story. He would have just taken a seat on the ground, but he'd mess his hair up that way and it would take forever to get it sorted out.]

But now I kinda wanna know... [Because it sounds funny.]

I'll definitely try it out though! Maybe I'll try some of that takeout stuff too sometime. What's it like?

[Korra waits a little longer before reaching over to check if Aang's still out. Yup, he is. Weird. She would have expected him to have opened his eyes by now.]

No way. [She sits up suddenly.] Did he actually get through?

[On one hand, it'd be great news. On the other, well. She'll be pretty disappointed in herself, but she can deal with that.]

[ She crosses her arms over her chest. ] Let's just say fire bending and noodles don't go too well together.

It's pretty good, if you know the right places to go! There's a lot of great restaurants in the city, good vendors too. The place I work serves good food, if you want to come by sometime it'd be on the house. [ On the house = out of her paycheck, but she likes Aang and it's the least she could do. ] And don't worry, if you're into that whole vegetarian thing there's plenty of meatless dishes for you.

[He crosses his arms too, trying to mimic her slyly.] I always thought those two things might be enemies!

[And he listens carefully as she gives the rundown.]

That does sound pretty neat! I'm definitely all about being vegetarian. So I'll definitely try to stop by there sometime and try it out! [He'd feel so guilty if he know where the money was coming from.]

[Aang gives a chipper nods.]

Yep! I've never seen so many people from all over the world in one place before! Isn't it... isn't it great to have a place like this?

[He can definitely see what he was, or will be, thinking in making this city.]

Okay then! Sooo it started on an island near the Earth Kingdom. Not an important one! Just... an unimportant one. [He says meekly as he leans against a wall to tell the story.]

There was a village there where I was staying, where I was trying to ride the Unagi. The first few times? I almost got eaten. But then the village got attacked, by firebenders. Fire...bending bandits!

What did firebending bandits want with some dinky little Earth Kingdom island?

[Details, yeah, but the story doesn't have many so far so he has to ask. He's already finished one pie and he'd kind of hoped the story would last longer than it would take for him to finish the second.]

Definitely. Republic City has stood as a symbol of unity for quite a while now.

[It's weird - it's awe-inspiring in a way, but a little scary. Just like the first time he was sent out of his body. It felt so long ago now. He looked at Korra and spoke even though she won't hear him.

"Nope! I didn't make it through enough." And he frowns. "Some cool past life I turned out to be." He looked around for a little while, looking at all the spirits that seemed to be buzzing around. Something about the two of them being in the area seemed to have a lot of them excited.

He didn't want to worry Korra, though, so he didn't remain like this too long. After taking a moment to spiritually make bunny ears behind her head, he managed to let himself back into his body, and his eyes snapped open.]

[Korra seems to sense when the other Avatar's back in his body, turning her gaze back to him eagerly as his eyes open.

She leans toward him.]

So? What happened?

Korra! I'm back! But... I didn't really go anywhere. [He admits nervously.] I was here, just not.. here. [He gestures to all of himself.]

[She holds her hands up in a "whoa, hold on" gesture.]

Okay, you lost me at "I'm back". What are you talking about?

Well, I mean, the thing is... I wasn't in the spirit world. I just wasn't in my body.

[His body was not ready.]

That's great! Unity, different people, peace... there's a lot to be happy for these days! Right?

Well... um... they got lost on their way back to the Fire Nation and were looking for a way back! You know, some of them can be really bad with directions.

Who's gonna give them directions if they attack the place?

[Flaw in the logic? A little bit of dishonesty? Who knows, but he's not going to let go of this. Making the kid squirm is more entertaining than the story itself.]

Y-you see... [Nervously rubs at neck!] They actually managed to get the directions! They found the map, s-so... they thought they'd burn down the village to take their boats!

How'd they get there if they didn't have boats?

[Wow, this is just getting worse and worse!]

[Korra pauses, disappointed for a second.] So you couldn’t get through either.

Wait…what do you mean you weren’t in your body? You mean your spirit was just sort of…around?

Y-yeah. It happened to me once, a long time ago. [He frowns.] Sorry, I- I should have done better.

[Aang's getting a quick hug.] It's okay. Jinora and I couldn't get in either. Now we know for sure the barrier's keeping us from meditating into the Spirit World. We'll have to check on things another way.

So...what did you see if you weren't in your body?

[It's a welcome hug.]

I see. Yeah, we'll just have to... keep trying other things.

All I saw was... us. I was still here, just as a... spirit-me.
